Needto know which MT kit ARF or RTF to buy? I have a Spectrum Dx7H Tx & Rx, ar6100 plus the 3 servos. I have practised on the Sim also have the Hiboro SR & CX, flying these confortably, tail in & tail out.
I have heard good reports on this model, plus it would help me in advancing to CCPM.
Suggestions would be appreciated, also where to purchase this Heli.

I love my Mini Titan...very stable and very well designed.

Personally, I always recommend the kit version. (Look for Thunder Tiger stock #TTR4710-K11) If you build it, you will have an appreciation of how the heli goes together - trust me it will be easier once you have to repair/rebuild it.

My two favorite on-line places to purchase are...

http://www.heliproz.com/
http://helidirect.com/

I've had excellent service from both shops, not to mention good prices.

Also look at getting a Futaba GY401 gyro with either Futaba 9650 or JR 3400G tail servo.

Thanks MK, good suggestion & help with the parts.
What servos would you use for the other remaining 3?

I use digital JR DS285 servos (I bought them with my DX7) for the cyclic controls - they are very precise and wicked fast. Hitec HS-65HB servos are also good for cyclic controls.

JR DS285: approx $35 ea
Hitec HS-65HB: approx $25 ea

I got mine from amain http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/2_382_709/products_id/10640 super fast shipping, good service. Helidirect is awesome as well, I order from them often, great customer service with quick email responses to my questions :)

I agree with getting the kit. With arf kits, it's a good idea to take them apart to check thread lock etc anyway. And yeah, you get to know how it all works much better when you build it from scratch.

I am using HS-65HB for cyclic and they work great. I too recommend s9650 for the tail, and GY401& Logitech 2100 gyro. 2100 fits inside of the frame, not sure if 401 would, may just squeeze in there ok - gyro on top risks strikes in an event of a crash, and since it's one of the most expensive components on the heli, better be safe than sorry in my opinion.

ccpm and gyro setup can be a challenge the first time.... or second... or thrid... ok in my case - always :) luckily we have finless videos! Make sure that you look through all of the trex 450se vids, even though they are not for the mini titan.. swash moves opposite on the mini titan than the trex, servo layout is a bit different, but idea & principle is the same. And since you have dx7, check out the dx7 setup vids as well :)

It fits...I have my 401 mounted inside the frame. Too much money sitting there to leave it out in the open for a hungry flybar to take a bite out of it...:D

lol... well we all just post about what we have experience in, or can take an educated guess in. But some of us (like me) don't have as much experience as others, but always glad to help & share if possible. Anyway suggestions are just opinions, and you should do the research to find out what will work the best for you :) I've posted about my setup already: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=54741 it worked well for me, and I am very happy with my mini titan now. I wasn't completely happy with my stock mini titan at first, but for a noob it'll be great to learn hovering & basic ff on.... my trexes have been sitting on the shelf a lot these days since I've got the mini titan rigged up in my post above :) But following someone's setup doesn't always pan out. So take it one step at a time, something that may not work so well for someone, may be great for you.... and vice versa.

To answer your question though.... I am using stock esc and motor from the kit that I linked before from amain hobbies. It bogs a bit in stationary flips... mostly because of my bad collective management, but got used to it pretty fast. It's all that I need at my level, and probably more than I'd ever need :) lipo... I'm using evo 25's that I run on my trex, they are great, no complaints about them. Don't skimp on the batteries, it won't matter how great your motor/esc are if you batteries are crap. It all adds up quick don't it? welcome to the hobby :)

By the way, what sim are you using? I have tuned my phoenix to simulate my mini titan, as well as my trexes, very close to my actual setup. I'd be happy to share those models if you are running phoenix.

If this is your first time flying one of these, I'd say stick to the normal plastic head for now. It really flies well and is cheap to fix if you do have a little accident ;)

LiPo - I'd also suggest spending that little bit more and get at least two good ones. I'm also runnning 25's and they seem to work really well.

You should consider Flight Power Evo Lite 2500mah 18C cells. They are correctly rated for the stock motor and Esc (45A Cont, 70A Burst) You'll get longer flight times and pay less for the batts,

For a gyro and tail servo, if you are considering an LT2100, you'll definately want to checkout the new Hitec HG5000 gyro, which is a rebranded, rebranded optimized LT2100 with a .07sec tail servo, the fastest you can get for a 450 sized heli. This is a canadian link, but you can find it in the states. http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=HIT44192

I use the TP extreme V2 220mAh battery, it awesome! Not to mention, I'm a full supporter of TP products. They have first class technical and customer support and they stand behind their products. While on ht esubject of batteries, you'll need a good charger...I would give a close look at the new TP-610C. I can't wait to get one...

I would keep the stock head assembly for now. It's plenty good enough to learn on. However, I would definitely scrap the crappy stock blades and go with the Align 325 mm wood blades (http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=120&products_id=1104). If you do, you're gonna need the rotor spacers (http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=288&products_id=5215) in order for the new blades to fit in the stock grips.
