Hi Nicolas,

Thanks a lot for the link, it's just i don't understand french. So i might as well ask you here. Since, i've been thinking of getting a 500 size heli(between lepton and t500), and it's hard to decide what to get, and i also happened to see the MSH 500 from Italy(said to be out in March), and now this JR S Voyager E. So, i've 4 brands to choose from now.
I'm interested in this JR E heli which runs on 4s. Can you give me(and others) more info about this heli? Like how's the power on 4s, with what kind of setup like motor, pinion, and main gear? And how do you like this heli compare to the lepton(i know you like the lepton a lot). How do you compare the quality, build, price, and flying abilities of the two helis? What servos fit best into the frame without mod?
And lastly, where did you get this heli? And what's the cost of it(kit only or kit with motor and ESC?)?
Sorry for so many questions man, just thinking maybe this might be my 500 heli.
Thanks a lot in advance for any info and advice you can give me.

Best regards,
Rich

Sorry for the delay.

Quality is very good. The Lepton is just a little above but on some points the JR is above too (tail blade grips by example). The JR is a little bit cheaper (approx 17%). Parts are really cheaper. But the JR is heavier. approx 170g. Probaby stronger.
Servos: Lepton: Futaba s3150 fits well. JR works too but i don't remember ref number.
SVE: DS3201, DS3401, DS 3405. JR japanese ref number (different from US) . You may also use with succes some Hitec HS-225.

4S will work good. i'm using 5S on the Lepton and the SVE. You may use 4S 3300 or better, 4S 3700. TP 5S 3300 barely fits. It really is the limit. Hyperion red batts 6S 2500 fits like the 5S 3300.

On 4S i advise you to buy it with the JR combo. Buy it at RC champ Japan. use google. you have to send them an e-mail. The full web site is in japanese... Approx 300€ without ESC and motor and approx 420€ with it.

Take a look on my blog: http://rotodingo.over-blog.net. You have a video shooted yesterday of the SVE flying 3D. Very good heli (only flight number 4!).

RC Champ in Japan. Please specify the 4S version! It's the only one full metal.
You have to send an e-amil in english. The website is in japanese. You will have a respons from Masa.

Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks very much for the detailed infos, i'll try to contact RC Champ and see what i have to do with the purchase. Thanks also for the link(your blog) to those nice videos, i really enjoyed watching those vids. I think i'll go for 5S if i'm getting this heli for a little bit more power to save myself sometimes from some oooppssss......, hehe.

You have to write here: champ_international@yahoo.co.jp

You just ask what you need, very simple. You can pay using paypal.

With 5S you can use the Hacker/JR motor proposed by JR. You will need a 14 or 15T pinion. Champ can have some by ordering it to Quick Japan.
I used a Kontronic Kora 15-12 on mine. With 17T pinion (the pinion of the SVE 3S). But the kit 18T will work too in fact. It depens of your level. 17T is good for 2600-2700 rpm.
If you use the Kora you will need to cut the motor shaft that is very long. You have to remove 8 to 9 mm. (shaft is 30mm long when hacker one is 17mm only). The kora is lighter and as strong as the Hacker. But final cost will be a higher.

Can you talk about performance with the stock motor and 4S battery which comes with the kit ? Does it possible to get enough head speed with 4S battery ? I am really intended to buy this kit .Also I saw your video on your blog . Great flying .

I didn't try the stock motor. The same motor was used on the lepton at first and was working good. The Kontronik Kora did a little better job after. It's also lighter. But at this price the stock combo is very good. Of course you will have enough HS. Probably in the 2600-2800 range. Just a little bit less max power. I choosed the 5S way just because i already used 5S batts on my lepton.
You will NEED the Hacker USB module to program the ESC. This special version of the ESC is not programmable by the TX.
