I have a brand new R90 3D that I need to equip. I'm just getting into my first loops. Which servos do you folks with R90's recommend? Much appreciated.

I'm currently building one and the servos I'm putting in it are:

Throttle - JRPS8700G Super Servo PCM ONLY! 0.09--- sec/60 degrees , I was told by HeliProz this will work fine with spektrum

Cyclic / Collective - JR 8717 Ultra Speed Cyclic Servo--- Torque: 160 oz/in @ 4.8V; 196 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .09 sec/60° @ 4.8V, .07 sec/60° @ 6V

Rudder I'm using the Futaba 611 and the servo that comes with it

BTW, with the 8717's I was warned, make sure you have a good battery to drive them.

I believe the rule of thumb is anything above 90 oz of torque on a 90. from there, anything in the teens for speed is fine. just depends on how much you want to spend, but definately dont go cheap.

I spent an exciting afternoon filing the servo tray openings to fit the 8717's in the Raptor 90 3D. The fit in the collective arm for the aileron servo is fine. The elevator one requires the removal of quite a bit of material. I have not begun on the collective servo opening yet.

JR 8717 on col+ elev , running on 6V are amazing .....they feel notchy when new, but itīs gone after a few flights.
I used the same for throttle ( unesesary , but in case on of the other fails, I have a spare)
I use them w futaba 9CH and arizona regulator)
I use a Peerless ( Fromeco) Li-ion bat 4800 and it feeds the heli forever. 8 flights mild 3D and still has plenty of juice.

8717s on the collective and yes you have to shoehorn them in the one slot. I did the tail conversion to put the rudder servo (9256) on the back, I like that much better.

196oz tq & .07 speed, they work fine.

I have not had to remove any material to make the 8717s fit, they are snug and hope they have adaquate cooling. Can anyone coment on the cooling aspect?

I just received my BLS 451's, they're very promising.

Vandelescrow,

"I have not had to remove any material to make the 8717s fit, they are snug and hope they have adaquate cooling. Can anyone coment on the cooling aspect?"

I could have pushed my 8717's into the original, unmodified hole, but they were a slight interference fit, so the rubber mounting grommets would have done no good.

I am used to the isolation mounting provided by the grommets. I was worried about the two-cycle vibration killing the servos if there was no room around them.

I am sorry, I cannot comment on the cooling aspect of things.
