So I got the metal landing gear upgrade that was supposed to be for all versions of the hummingbird (I have the V1) but to get it to fit I think I need to remove a little triangle out of where the original skids went into the frame. Does anyone know a good way to do this?

Hey,

Those are the new V3 plastic landing skids for the Hummingbird, which make the model look a little better.

Inside the main frame you are correct, there is a small plastic triangle which holds the original carbon skid legs at the correct angle. To remove this you basically just need to snap it out almost as it's glued in place. I dont seem to remember having to much trouble getting mine out, in fact one just fell out.
Obviously you need to be careful of the main frame not to damage it in the process, but go nice an easy and it will pop out.

they were really in there. I ended up having to cut them out with an xacto blade.

LOL, sometimes they are well and truly stuck in place.
Other times, as what happened with one of mine, they just drop out & it probably depends on how many crashes you've had.
In the case of my little Hummer it's been used at the indoor events to have fun with like playing RC heli football with, pylon racing, flying up and over the fluro lights... the list goes on. But not everytime it comes back in one piece ;-(

Still you've done it now so the hard works done.
