Can I use 95 tail blades on my raptor 50 if not what is the largest ones I could use with this heli. The stock ones are not doing there job with the hyper 50. Thanks (Lucky)

95's is pushing it. MAH 90's are nice on a R50

You will get varying answers on this one. R50 pilots have been debateing this one forever. Some pilots say the max you can run is 92MM without touching and some say 95MM without touching. I would say they are both right depending on your main blade choice. Honestly I would go with a wider blade rather than a longer blade. SAB makes a good set of 90s that have a good wide chord and out perform most of the larger blades. You can also run a set of Freya tell blades. They are cheap and get the job done. I believe (Someone please corect me if I am wrong) that the Freya Tails are 92MM. I would run the SAB 90s if you don't mind the price(@$30), or the Freyas if you do (@$7)

I've been trying 95mm vblades on one of my R50's with the red dampers and with the other 92mm with red dampers. Why 92mm on this one i'm running tt carbon blades on this heli and thay are 606mm not 600mm. I was afraid thay may come in contact. If your running tt carbon main blades it better to be safe then sorry i wound run no larger then 92mm. Hope this was a help.

85mm max for me. I have read too many horror stories of clipping tail blades (even with 90mm's). :)

Me to Blakka. Got some NHP wide chord 85's from HeliProz and they work great so far. Toasted the first set after 5 flights, now on set 2.... working well.
NHP's are definitely not the most hardy blades, but they are very close in weight and seem to work really well.

Hi Everyone,
I just got my replacement parts for my Raptor 50v2, In there I ordered the 85mm TR blades but I noticed that the tip of the blades is open, you can see the carbon lamination and the foam, whats the best way to protect this part, also y comes with metal buchings, should I glue them in? :dontknow The blades are perfectly balanced and weight nothing!! they are beatifull. Thanks for the help,

It sounds like you have NHP tail blades. I wouldn ot worry about them being open tiped, I have run mine open tiped for two years now and the foam has not come out, however some people do cover them. If you want to cover the open tips just use a smear of epoxy or CA to cover the foam.
Yes epoxy or CA the metal bushings in. :)

If it's the nhps a dab of CA will work fine. You don't need much, just enough to seal the ends. check the balance when your done if your anal. I did it to the set I had and it didn't make a diff in balance

I use a tiny bit of the black carbonized rubberized CA John Garst always has with him. Worked great. ;)
Thanks John!!
