I've done a bunch of searching, but haven't found quite the info I'm looking for...

I want to stretch a TRex 600E to run 670-680 blades for a scale project on 10S A123, with a target headspeed of ~1400-1500. It looks like I'm going to need an 800kv motor, and the candidates I've come up with are:

Z-Power Z50A-800 (780kv)

Century 650A+ (800kv) - is this just a repackaged Z50??

Kontronic Tango 45-08

Is anyone using any of these motors on a stretch TRex, especially with A123, and what is your experience?

Are there other motors I should consider?

Thanks!

I wouldn't hesitate and get the Tango 45-08.

I use it on my stretched ships (Logo/Rex600/vario silence) and it's the most efficient motor I have used.

Highly recommended and worth the extra $ especially with 10S a123's.

Still waiting to see the silence Jesse...

Rodan, I use the 45-08 on my stretched trex, and on 10s Lipo, the power is unreal. I dont know much about A123, other than the nominal voltage is slightly lower. What ESC do you plan to run. I heard the Jazz doesn't like A123 because of the cell count feature.
Good luck! :D

Thanks for the replies.

I haven't zeroed in on the ESC yet, but the CC HV-85 was one of the ones I was considering. I hadn't heard about the Jazz having issues with A123.

Anyone have any input on the Z-Power or Century motors, and are they the same?

I ran the Z power Z50A-600 on 10s for a little while. It stayed really cool. Good bang for the buck.

If you look back through this forum i was the first to stretch the trex 600 to swing 700mm + blades. I used the zpower 50-600 with no issues on 10s, and using a CC110HV. The zpower is great bang for the buck and worked pretty well for me. I was using a 12tooth helical pinion for gearing the bird.

Derek, yes, I think I read a couple of your threads in my searching.

Thanks guys!
