Well cold day in SOCAL today but we managed to catch a no rain stretch!

Anyway Kevin and I were doing some more flying with the 6S 3700 packs and took some video. Andy showed up in the middle and I let him try it.

Needless to say for those wanting more flight time at a weight price that I think is reasonable, then this is a interesting pack!

Here is a video of Kevin, myself show auto's and that the weight isn't a problem, and Andy testing them a little.

i flew a 6s 3700 in a 500 today myself. I found it does fly much longer 7-8mins with 100-100-100 throttle curve in idle 2 doing 3D 70% of the time, and thats still leaving roughly 3.7 volts per cell. It definately is alot heavier and the "crispness" and collective pop isn't their compared to 2170's and 2500's. But i think the auto performance is slightly better with the 3700 compared to the smaller batteries. it doesn't have as much hang time at the end, but its only shorter by 2 or 3 seconds.

So far i'm liking the 2170's for short hard 3D flights, as the 80ish grams less of weight compared to the 2500's makes the heli much crisper, and is only about 30 seconds shorter flight time. but i believe the perfect pack for the heli will be around a 6s 3000 mah pack.

Have you had any flights w/ a 5S pack yet to compare the performance to a 6S pack?

my friends flew the align 6s 4200 pack and a tt 6s 5000 pack from their 600s today. No canopies on them but they did fly. Did some flips with the 4200 pack. the 5000 pack was just basic flying around. He flew for 11 minutes and landed and said it still had a good amount of power left in it. Its way too big of a pack to get the canopy on and to do 3d but the 5000 will hover and do circuits and the 4200 actually did do some very light 3d.

Wow very cool flight video! I think this heli has a LOT of options for packs and will perform well on a variety of setups. Thanks Bob for the flight video, and the autos!

Must be crazy nose heavy with that pack hey Bob?I am really suprised you can fit it under that canopy, I have no idea how you manged that to be honest, lol.

That is absolutely amazing: Kevin went 7 minutes without crashing. If you remove your battery mount the 3700 just fits between the frames, though very tight. If you make a little clip like the one built into the bottom frame, which the canopy bottom fits into and mount it about 1/4 inch higher, the canopy fits on fine.

Yea that makes sense. Come to think of it, now you say that why could they simply not have made the tray a quarter inch lower, that would have been nice to make more room.....

thats great to hear about the 3700 packs. got me looking around for similar size packs and i just picked up a flightpower evo 25 3300mah 22.2v pack for 179.95 from readyheli. thats pretty darn cheap when you compare 3300mah to 2 3s 2200 tpv2 packs for 140.00. makes me wish i didnt have so many 3s packs lying about.

Perhaps it has been asked and answered before, but what is the weight of this pack?

Thanks

i believe the 3700 is 562g. the 3300 is 515g. i believe 2 of my tp v2 2200 3s packs weighed in at 342g.

the canopy fits on fine with the 3700 pack in the stock canopy slot.. its a wee bit tight, but it fits.

Its probably going to vary from canopy to canopy. I have tried it on 2 and it would not fit unless you put the lip under the canopy slot.

Both Kevin and I had to put the canopy above the split lip at the bottom to get this pack in. No worries though with this pack there is no way the canopy is coming off.

My bad.. thats what I meant. The edge of the canopy is actually above the slot, so the end of the battery is actually holding the nose of the canopy down.
