I just upgraded from a 6EX to a X9303 and WHAT a difference. First, I never new that the 50% points of servos could differ from one TX to the other. With my mechanical setup as per the manual and a fresh program on my 6EX my bell cranks were around 7-9 deg to low from horizontal. I was always blaming the Align HITEC servo wheels for this.
As soon as I plugged in my AR7000/X9303 everything lined up perfectly, WTF?
And it is so smooth. With the 6EX the collective was very "notchy" As if the main shaft was rough. It would travel up and down inconsistently. Now it feels silky smooth. I guess gimbal quality and the EXPO option on swash helps.
Anyway I am not finished being surprised by the quality of the remote.

P.S. I also use to fly with a Futaba 7CHP and still not even close the my X9303

As for the difference in points.
Your talking apples and oranges.
Manufactuers use different protocols for tranmission. They use opposite direction in the resolution pulses.
For example it your using JR with JR servos. You install a Futaba servo in that system and you will have to go in the transmitter program and reverse the direction of travel.

As for the sticks and gimbals, I surely would hope the gimbals are better in a 9303 than a 6EX. LL

6EX >9303
$200>$530
Talk about apples and oranges!!
You better get something for that money !!! :)
Check out the gimbals on the 12FG

Same thing. I would think you had to change direction of channels between the two different brand transmitters. You just probably didn't notice you were doing it while you was doing the setup.

Yes I did reverse my swash mix. thinking of it all 5 needed to change direction.

That sounds right to me

I would think you had to do some mechanical tweaking also. Even changing between transmitters of the same type and same brand. The pots may be positioned slightly different. So for the same stick position and same settings. The mechancial setup may have to be tweaked. Seen this many times no matter what brand transmitter.
I use to fly 3 models off the same program in the same transmitter. It took me a couple weeks of mechanical tweaking to get them to do that. These were models used to fly in
F3C events. So it was nessecary that they were identical.

Yes I did. Since the 6EX has no sub trim and the zero position was off it was difficult to mechanically get the proper swash travel. Since I purchased my 6EX temporarily while awaiting my X9303, I conceded some settings. I only got 4deg negative pitch and 9 positive. 0 pitch was a bit above 50% stick position. I flew like this for 1 1/2 month doing circuits.
So when I installed the new gear my head was pretty close to perfect. I did adjust links to rec center it and get every arms 90deg at zero but it did not involve a lot of time.
The Align Hitec wheels are still not perfect so I did have to use sub trim. I estimate a 2-4 deg correction. I will still try to do better. At least now I have equal travel up and down on the swash, actually way more than I need, I am not that good of a pilot to have -13 +13 pitch  So I have toned down my swash mix from almost 75% achievable to a decent 60% for now.

Really has nothing to do with the radio then. Your mechanical setup was off.
I have never used subtrims and I have had them available on a radio since I started. I always leave the radio program defaulted then mechanically set up the heli. They fly so much better when mechanically set up correctly instead of trying to tweak it with a mix or subtrim. Then if I happen to crash, it easy to set the model back to the settings it was before the crash.
Just my experience, nothing more or less.

I seem to remember a conversation on here somewhere about someone using sub-trim. I disagreed on the usage of sub-trim at all and wanted the pilot to focus on mechanically setting up their model. Good to know David sees it the same way.
Back to the topic, the x9303 isn't even in the same class as the 6EX. The 6EX was intended to compete against the DX7. At least this is the way I understood it.
If you are trying to compare radio models, it's usually best to find ones in the same class/grouping. Anything else would be like comparing a Stratus/Aurora to a QWW Quickie. They aren't even in the same ball park.

I'm a DX7 man. Cheap and works great!

I would say the 6EX was to compete with the DX6. First dip into the 2.4 arena.

That's what I meant, thanks for correcting.
