As Bob pointed out in his Video 7a using the blue servo arm provided with the 5245 servo results in the ball off the heli centerline. Finless suggests using a spacer under the servo mount which works fine.
Another method that will get you really close is to put one of the ball retaining nuts and a washer on the ball before screwing into the arm. You will still have full engagement of the threads in the arm (don't forget the locktite) and a ball that is very close to centered . . . close enough for my lame flying.

I just used a longer ball that had a longer standoff from my 600E kit , worked perfectly and threaded in perfect with a lock nut on the back. what i noticed though is that if you don't use a spacer to move the servo , the back of the servo is very close to the depth of the canopy standoff and almost won't let you push the canopy nut on. if you space the servo , it pushes the back of the servo in towards the frame and out of the way so you can put the canopy on with no interference.......

intersting... How straight was it with the nut under the ball? Just curious? How about a pic?
Also not to be anal but it's not how good you fly it's also how good the heli is set up :) Only a pro pilot can make a TURD fly good! We humans need a well set up machine to help us overcome our crappy flying ;)

Looks good to me! Nice idea! Certainly easier than making spacers....
It looks like you have 2 nuts under the ball and no nut behind to secure it? Since it's a metal arm and I am sure you used locktite, I am sure it's OK and shouldn't come loose.

I would still use spacers though if you can find or make them.
1. The balls are not out as far and over stain the bearing in the servo
2. Canopy fits better with added spacer.

My Elevator Servo arm came loose while in flight today. :(
Just want to reiterate the importance of loctite on the 5245 servo screw. I overlooked that little detail.

I would suggest that you use the black plastic servo arms that comes with the kit.
They "could" save your servo cases in a crash, because they "dampens" some of the impact because they are not as hard and unforgiving as the blue aluminium arms.
I crashed my T-rex 500 with the small black plastic servo arms, and not one servo or servo case was damaged in the crash.
