I have a few flights that I recorded and would like to post them to get some feed back on where/how I need to improve. kind of like how finless posted his demo flights using realflight. first of all, Is this possible? if so, how do I transfer these to my computer so that I can post them? I'm use to saving and posting jpeg pics, but not an actual sim flight.

the easiest way is to just post the .rec file but then only phoenix users can see it.

another way is to use www.fraps.com can be used to make a video from anything that is on your screen but its a resource hog so when combined with phoenix will push the limits of your hardware.

theres plenty of experienced pilots on here using phoenix so i would personally just post the .rec

Might be better for your purpose just to find a good pilot to help you in multiplayer, limited to just the two of you. He can watch your sticks and flight and give you pointers. Maybe you can even talk Ade into this...

online is useful for this but also sometimes recordings are better as you can slow them right down so you can really see whats going on

If you fly the Pitts or the Knight at Oldsloe, demos recorded with 1.05c work with the phoenix demo.

Backup and replace PhoenixRC Demo\resources\demos+tutorials\Demonstrations\airp lane\3D_funfly.rec to view the recording.

So if anyone who hasn't bought Phoenix wants to see a particular move, they can be obliged ;-)

I think you have to zip the .rec file in order to post it here. .rec is not an 'approved' file type.
FWIW I'd be happy to look at your recorded flights.

where do you guys even find the .rec file? I have 1.05c and when I record a flight, I can view it when phoenix is open. But if I close phoenix and look in my C drive files and find the phoenix folder and then go to the folder where it seems recorded flights would be, there is nothing in the folder even tho I have like 4 flights recorded that I can see when phoenix is running and i go to view flight.

In Windows XP, after I save, here's where mine go.
C: Documents and Settings: [the user name you're using]: My Documents: PhoenixRC: Recordings: [the file name you chose].rec

Look in the Recordings folder.

yea, that is where i look and nothing shows up. Once I open the folder, its empty.

Two questions:
1. Were you presented with a dialog to save the recording with a name?
2. If you saved it with a name have you searched for it. Maybe even search for just .rec?

thanks for the help.. i dont know why I didnt think to search for it myself. I did find them. They were going to the documents and settings folder and there was another file called phoenix recordings in there. I dont know why it wasnt being saved under the programs/phoenix/recording folder.

Cool. :)
So let's see 'em.
You have to zip them to post them on HF, right?
Then we download them, unzip them, and open them from within the Phoenix menus.
