90/Gasser sized, turbine power, and a price tag a little lower than the existing turbine model!

Just remember...smaller doesn't always mean less expensive when it comes to turbines...I hate to say...but I am pretty sure the MW54 gasgen is about 250 GBP's less than than the stock MW44.... :(
I would imagine as it was with the MW54 Bergen Turbine the determining factor on this bird will be the price of the Turbine unit...
none the less...it is going to be Kick Azz!

!
Yes, as a jet engine the MW44 is actually MORE expensive than the 54 although it's smaller - the reason is that the little MW44 is very tricky to build. On such a small engine the clearances and tolerances are tiny, just a few microns in some cases, and the parts have to be fitted with 100% accuracy. The turbine wheel spins at 195,000 rpm (that means the tips of the blades are doing 17 miles per minute) and the clearance between the wheel and the housing is 0.07mm. No room for error there!
However, despite the fact that the MW44 is more expensive than the 54, the 44 helicopter should be just a little cheaper than the 54. Only a little though ...
Good to see you back, Greg!

We can mount some some 44 magnums on it with gyro stabilization, 900 mhz downlink sighting, and remote triggering
YEEEEE HAAAWWW
Here's the new 44! Pictures show its size relative to the 54 and the length and weight.

That motor will be fit into these frames.....
Some serious POWER!!
Yes, we haven't finished testing yet but the work on the 44 Turboprop (which is now available) has shown that although the 44 series will not be as powerful as the 54s, they aren't so far behind. We've learnt a lot over the 9 years since Mike Murphy made the first 54 helicopter and all that knowledge about two-stage engines has been put to use when the guys designed the 44.

Granted the power in reserve from a turbine would probably negate it, especially if it was on a governor, it would be pretty sweet if the head was nice and clean....in other words, no fly bar. :D

Yea, but then you have to add more electronics to fail....

Very true. I know you're probably argued to death the mechanical vs. electronic CCPM thing too and I guess it all comes down to, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Making your machines eCCPM only introduces something new to be tested and refined when what you have now does the same job just as effectively. It also gives you one more common when trying to help customers with their setups, not everyone has the same transmitters.

Sara,
Do you have an expected release date on the Heli version 44? Can I get one for this summers flying season?:happyd
Chris,
How quickly can a prototype be set up once the engine is released? I'd like to be flying it this summer if Sara and team get the engine released.:woohoo:woohoo:woohoo
