ive had this damn exceed raptor g2 since xmas now. ive had numerous problems with it from day one most of which i got fixed with help from the people on this site. i decided that the 2 minute runtime on my batterry was usless and waiting another 21/2 hours for it too charge was driving me mad so i went to buy a new 2200 lipo which i had to buy a charger for as the one that my heli came with was no good plus the different connectors all came to around $150. now bearing in mind i only paid $200 for the heli/tx in the first place. so anyway i tried the new battery out after 3 minutes the motor went up in smoke. how long should these motors last its a brushed one. my question is should i spend another $70 on a brushless & esc and probably still will have problems getting it to fly right or should i just bite the bullet put this piece of crap in the closet and save for a better heli? bearing in mind im a newbie and have had zero proper flight time. would it be stupid to pay out for a trex, im guessing it would be easier to fly or should i just stick with the cheap crap until i managed to get some flying time in

You will be MUCH happier with a better heli.
I would avoid dropping too much money into that heli, unless it is for things that will work on a better heli when you get one. Things like a DX6i/DX7 radio, good gyro, good servos.
Other expenses are pretty much throwing money away. I know of people who have more in their lousy heli than it would have cost them to doa Trex 450 right, and while the lousy heli is much better than stock, it still isn't as good as a better heli.

Hi Boozie,
Well, From one newbie to another ...
I went the other way around:
My 1st heli was a very simple used heli (4ch esky honey bee) bought it relatively cheap with spare parts.
spent some hours flying it ... crashing it ... tunning it ... bracking ..
and then bought another one - new - same type.
- I now have some duplicate set (very good as spare ones), I also know the heli a little better and due to the fact that is a cheap one, parts are cheap too.
I do wonder from time to time if starting with a trex wasn't easier couse its more stable ..
- still I'm taking a look at my wallet and smiling :-)
... another few months maybe ..
Don't loose hope :-)
