I was trying to setup a Blade 400 for someone and while accelerating the rotor, I heard a loud "bang", sounded very much like a firearm....

I hit throttle hold and when the rotor stopped I discovered that one of the balls on the inner swashplate had completely unscrewed from the swashplate. Lucky it happened on the ground, no damage.

So even though this thing is supposedly ready to fly out of the box, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERYTHING! Loctite, belt tension, reversed servos ( almost thought the collective was reversd at first!) etc.......

This brings up a good point, but begs the question...

As a newbie B400 owner, how do I go about checking the belt tension?

take a small tool like an allen key and put it in the slot on the right side of the boom block and you should be able to move it about 3/4 of the way with out much force
