First DX7 Questions

This is my first Spektrum radio always been a Futaba man. I may have 2 issues with the radio and the battery. When I turn on the radio it emits a buzzing sound (never had this on a Futaba radio) is this normal. 2nd the battery meter has never read over 11v after the first charge is the battery going bad/defective. I have only had the radio for a week and been only using it to adjust linkages etc...spent bulk of that time programming it.

That's all normal for the DX7. The only time the battery meter goes to the "full" mark is when there is a lipo pack installed instead of the stock battery.

Ordered a lipo pack for it should be here by Saturday. I am more concerned with the buzzing coming from the transmitter any suggestions.

The buzzing is actually from the speaker. It is the same on all DX7's and does not indicate a problem.
