Some of you may have seen Greg flying the prototype E-Magnum last year. We're now finalising the testing of a few different motors and gearing combinations AND setting it up for running 810mm blades if so desired, for the A/P crowd wanting a large electric to carry an underslung mount.

More info and pics to follow here, http://www.bergenrc.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=29 .

When you run into Greg this year, ask him for a demo, If you see me, I've got mine setup with 8717 servos, a 6volt HC system from Duralite, and 10s 5350 EVO Lite packs from FlightPower. I'll let you give it a whirl (no turbine waiver needed :) )

The longer boom version seemed a natural progression, especially since I got 2 phone calls asking about it on monday.....It seems a replacement for the Maxi Joker style of heli was wanted.

We'll run it on 12s, to add the weight in the nose to compensate for the longer boom, as well as give additional flight time.

Should auto FOOOOOOOREEEEEEVERRRRRRRR!!:)

Chris,

Congratulations on getting the electric into production. The early birds I've seen flying look good. I also couldn't believe the flight times.

OK, so now that the Electric is done, let's hope that Wren can get that 44 heli version out so those of us addicted to JetA can get a new fix. Would love the opportunity to be testing that new bird when it's available.

Flight test report on the E-Magnum with the Neu 1912/1Y/H with 6mm shaft.....

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Setting it up for a 1900 headspeed, Optical tach registered 1870, Using 2 ea Flightpower Evo-lite 5S 5350 packs, this sum***** is powerful!! I "borrowed" a CC HV110 speed controller from Greg to get her flying this week.

The JR 8717 servos on a Duralite 6volt HC system with drop down for the tail servo, makes the collective and cyclics faster than any bird I've flown! It's gonna take some EXPO for me to keep up with it.

I think I may get to liking this kind of flying, of course now I have to wait 3 hours to recharge the batteries.....:(

E-Observer next up with the Neu 1915/2Y/H motor on 12S....

Caleb, did you see the inverted auto at Clints? Nice save by Greg. Bent the spindle shaft though. :smokin: V's survived!

Actually, I missed it :(.

I did get to see the aftermath though and aside from the bent spindle and some dust and scratches, you would've never have known. I guess his inverted auto into the ground proved to be a lot less damaging than my right side up fall :YeaBaby:

By the way, it was great getting to meet Wesley. He's a great kid and pilot!

I've gotten a half dozen or more flights on the E-Magnum (Tazer) with the Neu Motor installed and I have to say I am impressed with the power.

I just completed a 5 minute flight to gauge the remaining Mah so I'll have a better feel for how long I can actually fly without hurting the batteries. In that 5 minutes, I spent more time upside down than with any other model in my inventory.

Stationary flips and rolls are effortless, the 8717 servos from JR on 6 volts are making this into a whole new helicopter, the lighter weight (11.5 Lbs) let's it be thrown around easily with minimal collective movements.

We ran with the Data logger yesterday, and got a spike of up to 104 amps, course Rusty was flying it, He's a little squirrely, not as smooth as me :) .

I have V-Blades TST 710's on it right now, with 690's waiting in the wings.....

Spinning the head at 1900 RPM's, she sings along pretty good.
