Would the Futaba 9252 make a good rudder servo? Anyone using it as such? I know it isn't as fast as a 9253 or 9254, but it is a lot more powerful.

Thanks,
Angelo

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between a 9253 and 9252. A while back I ordered a 9253 gearset and got a 9252 gearset instead. My 9253 has been running those gears for a while now and it works like a 9253, from high rate piro the tail locks solid, it stays where you put it. I can't tell a difference in performance (I don't fly hard 3D though). The difference between the 2 gearsets is about 2 teeth on one of the gear meshes. You can't mix 9252 and 9253 gears though. I had to replace the whole bunch.

Aside from the gearset, all I can think is that the onboard micro-controller for the 9253 might have a little more agressive timing on the motor drive modulation or something. Maybe I should buy a 9252 and warm up the scope. If both servos showed the same timing specifications, that would be interesting from a cost perspective.
