I thought I would start a thread, where we could all list the things we would like to see go into production as options for this heli.I have a 450 and a 600n and have found align fantastic in adressing what the consumer wants. I understand this is only early days for this heli and upgrades will start to trickle through once the company meets kit demands. I just thought if we keep everything in the one area it would be a good reference to see what everybody would like to see to make this heli their personal pride and joy. And easy for the manufacturers to keep track of what we the consumer would like to see.
So i guess i will go first.
1.Plastic clear canopies(Dont get me wrong i love the fibre cano, its just if you crash sometimes a cheaper option can get you back in the air Quicker.
2. Wood blades in 425mm. Like the ones for the trex 450. Obviously a lot of people will only fly carbons, but the cost effective option is always good to have also if your learning.
3.Metal mixing and washout arms
4.Alloy tail case.

cheers
Simon

i think the headspeed is too high for wood blades IMHO.

The only thing this heli needs is Elizabeth Hurley. You know, to pick up the pieces after the inevitable happens. A really spectacular crash could result in multiple bend-overs.....and THAT would definitely make my day at the field complete.:smokin:

You will never see woods for this pretty sure so a cheaper FP blade would be it.

Wish list for me:
Metal mixer arms ASAP! The plastic ones flex too much!
Metal HZ fin clamp ASAP! The pastic one keeps stripping and moving
Improve the thrusted tail grips ASAP!
Metal Flybar cage
Metal tail case
Carbon boom
Torque tube
Night Blades baby!

From 3rd parties
Gorilla gear
More blade options
Programmable paddles might be cool

how about a roomier canopy to fit these larger 6S packs?

DITTO !!!!!! the disk loading on this heli is light so more people are going to be getting bigger battery's, it would be nice to fit them under the canopy....

I agree with Bob on everything ,but i wish they would do some painted canopies with the red window like the prototypes were.

I already ask Andy about this, he said he's looking into it.;)

I'd like to see some lower profile landing gear that are more like the 450 or 600 ones. That and the canopy make the whole profile of the heli look very tall. It's not super important but IMO the 450 and 600 are aesethetically more pleasing. Oh the blue skid nuts gotta go.

Other than that:

A kit with no motor or ESC
Torque tube
Chinese weight mod on metal tail grips

From seeing and handling a friends I can comment on some things I thought of...

Longer flybar and lighter paddles, the cyclic is slow even with fast servos.

As mentioned roomier canopy, there is not enough room for all the lipo options, the windscreen section could be raised at least an eigth inch. "OR" redesign upcomgin frames with the lipo tray much lower in height to accomadate this issue.

As Bob already mentioned metal mixer arms.

Open tail case for viewing belt condition and tension point.

Longer battery tray as you have to move lipos so far ahead to acheive cg and half the lipo if not more is hanging on nothing....

Exam possible frame change layout to better the CG, I thought the CG on this heli was poor, "very" tail heavy imho. I can not imagine how tail heavy it will be with a TT.

Can someone explain to me what the holes in the stock paddles are for? It's almost like weights are supposed to go in there...

The paddle design is the same as the 600. I think Align at one time thought of this idea but dropped it. I do think that hole could be used to add weight if you wanted.

Shawn you think cyclic is slow? crank up the swash menu for cyclic to 85 like I have with mine :)

Just for comparison, here's the Align canopy on a pre-production RCT-500 heli.
I like the look of the LG. I think a set of low profile gorilla gear would do the 500 some good.

Ah, I see. Thanks. Definitely looks like you could put some stuff in there, but why would you want to slow it down?!?! :P

n00bs wanting more stability. Again I think it was there to do this but later Align realized no one want to slow down the 600.

Bob we had it maxed out to every point, still abit slow yes.

Why is that? If the 450 and 600 have wood blades, why wouldn't they make them for this?

My wish list (tentative, since I don't have the thing yet)...

Wood Blades, fiberglass blades... hell, ANY blades less than $60!
Carbon boom
Metal options for any plastic parts likely to break in a crash. What those are specifically, I don't have the experience to know.
Heavy duty/wide stance landing gear.-David

Shawn, remember these helis have silly little things called flybars that slow the cyclic down.

Maybe Joe at Tech Model Products can come up with a 425mm wood blade like his superb blades for the 450.

I removed some elements. The one i kept are included as standard in the JR SVE 4S Kit. I can see The JR one is better equiped than the T500. But no torque tube for the JR probably. I wonder if trust bearings in the tail rotor are really needed in a small size heli. No problem on the Lepton. My caliber 5 is working OK with only 2 radial bearings. As far as i remember the Raptor 50 as no trust bearings in the tail. The T500 has some but it seems that it's not at all trouble free...

the Leptons radial only tail get's notchy really quick and the raptor has an upgrade to thrust on the tail which is almost always done. What troubles are you reffering to with the T500 tail ? the only troubles i've heard about are setup problems that are Noob related.

Bob asks for a better tail rotor trust bearing design and another post somewhere on helifreak shows design problem on this parts causing troubles. I don't know exactly wich ones. Anyway i'm flying my Lepton at 2700 rpm. It flyies since January 2007 and my tail rotor bearings are OK. I will check but everything is fine in flight. The bearings are big ones to my feeling.
