Hi everyone. I have the following set-up to charge my two 3s kong power lipo batts in series, using BC6 to charge.(pic shown).
Do i have to remove the red wire?

I don't want you to bet your house not burning down on my advice, but...
To me it looks like the red wire is fine. But I also think it's probably unneccessary. I think by wiring the two packs in series to begin with you'll find that connection has already been made. To test this theory you could cut that wire and measure the voltage across the break. If the voltage is 0 (which I think it will be), you can then measure the resistance. I think you'll find it to have connectivity.

Actually i found this method from my friend. he gave me this website. they stated is a precaution to remove the red wire. this is the website. http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/index.html

Yup. It looks like they're saying you could end up with a short if you connected the balance leads to the wrong packs (i.e. swapped them). But as mentioned above, that wire is redundant, so cutting it will prevent the potential problem they describe, and the balancing should still work fine.

So it means that as long i don't accidentally switch or swap the connection. i still able to charge the two 3s without removing the red wire......is that right?

Yup. I believe if you do all the connections correctly the red wire will neither hurt nor help. But if you swap the connectors you could let the smoke out in a big hurry.

Hey Chester
How is that working for you?
I have the same BC6 charger. Does it take much longer to balance all 6 cells together?
Sounds like I could save a lot of time by doing this.

Does anyone have problem charging 2 seperate 3s lipo using 2xLBA10(networked in series as per manual) and 1210i charger?
It seems like it for my case it has to be config like Chester's pic for things to work on the hyperion(ie charge with 1 balancer), but the manual stated otherwise..
I'm able to read all the 6cells on my charger in a 2 xLBA10 balancer network in series, but can't charge. It beeps an alarm "Output voltage too high" even i've set the charger to 6s.

The problem with that might be that the two batteries are not equally discharged. To the charger that would look like a pack that's WAY out of balance. I'm not sure why it would say "voltage too high", but I sort of suspect it's a balance issue.

Hi Spork,
I've managed to charge my 2 packs using the method in chester's pic in post # 1 by plugging the balancer tabs into a board and then plug into 1 balancer. Though the both packs maybe imbalance of up 0.3V it still allows charging without error with chester's method.
Now, if it charging thru 2 balancer and wired as per hyperion manual, shouldn't it charge too? I've tried it using 2 of my 5s a123 packs which are balanced within each other, and it didn't charge too..it would detect that the packs are full even though they are at 3.3V/cell.
