Who still has parts for a YS 80, or should I bite the bullet and buy a 91?
now I'm gonna have to find someone in FL with a shop and dial indicator....

Piston and sleeve are unhurt, as is the block . I will replace bearings, gaskets, pump parts, rod, and wristpin unless someone has a new 91 somewhere..

Ricks has everything excluding wrist pin retainers, and diaphragm. Hopefully, I won't need either.
I did find a NIB YS ST80 in a local hobby shop for $289 still in their display case too.
I didn't ask if they had the diaphragm though.. thought of it afterwards, go figure!
It would have been a great upgrade time,....IF YS had 91's anywhere in country!
I must admit that 12 minute flights and having fuel in the tank is nice.. :)

I'd think long and hard before sinking a lot of money in that motor or buying another. I broke 3 YS80 rods in the space of about a year, something I've not been able to accomplish on any of the 30 or so other heli engines I've owned. I now have 2 of the YS 91's and they have held up fine, but the 80 was a time bomb. Hope this helps. steve.
