I thought that was all built in to the Align BEC Unit that came with the 600N just like the 660E. No?

there was no bec in the kit and it was factory sealed. but there are combos that do from align

Odd. For $17 bucks you get cools lights a regulator and a switch. Tough to beat.

That is so "old school" You want my RX battery that came with my x9303? Pay shipping and it is yours.
I run 7+ volts on a LiIon or Lipoly then though a regulator (or what Align calls a BEC). In this way your servos should not be able to over draw the pack and you will not get voltage drops. Also if you use the Align switch the battery checker is built in.:)
You can just just use double sided sticky tape to attach the old standard JR switch anywhere you'd like.

On my 600N I used the gyro tray kit (# HN6051 ) installed between the canopy posts.
Drill two 3/16 holes for the switch ( and square them with a hobbie knife ) and two 1/8
holes for the mounting screws. Then mount the voltage monitor beside the switch for easy viewing.
Hope this helps.

Yep you can get a voltwatch for $11 bucks http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/hobbico/hcap0332.html
but like I said for $16 you get both a switch , regulator and voltmeter.
Most gyros you can not run 6V to it.

hear talks about align BEC failing so i wanna use a switch with a 6 volt NiCad with a step-down for my GY611. Will voltage drop so much using this setup with 3000 Ma Battery?

I have seen a regular switch fail more than I have seen the Align switches fail.
If you hard mount a regular switch on a nitro they tend to shake apart thats why I say use double sided sticky tape. Lots of people use heavy duty switches with regulators that cost over $50 and this seems crazy until you have a $300 crash because of a bad switch or regulator. ;) http://duralitebatteries.com/flight/accessories4.php#Heavy

I'll agree with the dog.. i've had more standard and heavy duty switches fail, than i have electronic BEC's and regulators.
my vote is the align 2 in 1
