After hearing numerous horror stories I decided to do the screw mod to the tail case and boom block on my 600N Pro (not needed on the sport as it has the belt drive system)
The horror stories I am referring to are tail case ejections at high piro rates and also the boom coming out of the boom clamp also at high piro rates.
I used a 2mm drill and tap and then some M2 screws from a 450 hardware kit. I used Loctite on the rear screw as it was going into metal but on the boom block I used CA as I didn't want the Loctite to eat the plastic.
Below are some pics of my mod. There doesnt seem to be a dedicated thread to this mod so I thought I would post one and maybe everyone can post their experiences of this mod to aid in future builds.
Thanks
Tom

Looks okay, but what horror stories?
Tail sliding back and forth in the blocks?
Like these threads, but explain what the problem is!
Why do these mods, if people tell more of the "why stuff" noobs wouldn't be opening so many new threads.
Thanks,
Chief

You might also want to explain that this is for the PRO version w/ the torque tube, NOT the sport w/ the belt.
Chief,
there have been claims of peoples tail rotor case rotating or ejecting itself off of the tail boom and cases of the tail boom coming out of the tail boom clamps. this mod keeps the boom in place in the clamps and the TT tail box on the boom.
Personally,
i've never had an issue with either as long as their wasn't any vibrations in the tail rotor system.

For the boom block, are you going all the way through with a 2mm fastener? Is it offset from the torque tube?

no, its just enough to go thru the boom itself.
