The Schulze 32-80K ESC came today. I have 3 different controllers to play with this weekend. It is a little bigger then the CC 85HV and has 6 spark suppression caps, or maybe it's a PII filter or both, I can't tell.
The Schulze included a pretty strongly worded message about ESD wich is posted under the ESD sticky.

Sounds like Schulze is not as sympathetic to ESD failures as Castle.

Schulze has a simple head speed calculator for their controllers. They read motor RPM, so they can tell where to set your radio percentage for headspeed.

I used the PJ for the past two days in my 10S Logo 600, after a reset and reconfiguration, with the same battery and charging procedure, and taching every flight.
The result was the same as before. 4 or 5 consistant flights, then a wildly different headspeed on a successive flight. Unplug replug still different.
The Schulze performed flawlessly, holding headspeed within 20 RPM in mild 3D. Setup is a little different. Runs fine on 2S, and does not need an external programmer. Schulze responded promptly to several email questions about setting for the 1912H/1Y. Best of all no problems, no thermalling, same headspeed, no programmer, a little pricey.
Now that I have a constant gov I can finish fine tuning the Vstabi setting in this heli:thumbup:.

Wow I have heard great things about the Schulze but never seen one in person to be honest John,. Any chance of pictures of this beast on your heli?

I have been playing with some of the settings on the Schulze 32-80K combined with the Neu1912H/1Y.
Expert mode or high gov gain works well.
Timing soft or hard, PWM frequency 9 or 19kHz. Anyone have reccomendations on these settings?

OK, so you Kontronik guys aren't jealous, I thermaled the Schulze controller after about 6 minutes. This is the Logo 600 3D with 10S FP 5350 and the Neu 1912H/1Y with 623 Maniacs. The Schulze shuts down in about 5 seconds, not as much warning a the Ks making for exciting autos. It's a little warmer here today. In this heli I have thermaled the Jazz 55 as well. The CC and PJ have never thermalled in hot weather. I may swap out the 1912H/1Y for my 1915/1Y and see what the difference is.
It is fun heli to fly, POWER!

OK, so now I can fly a full 7 minutes.

John, can you notice the extra weight with the 5350s or is the heli just as lively?

The weight is noticable, but I came from a heavier lower powered heli so the extra time and perfomance is deffinately worth it. I am still very light with the 5350.
Setup requires a little more PSI and Bell to handle the extra weight then a setup for 3700s.

Gee, the Schulze thermalled??
That's not on in my books, to buy a $$$ controller and add heatsinks!
How is the CC for you? Many people said they have toasted theirs, but how?? I know the one issue is static can kill the controller PCB but have taken steps to prevent this - grounded the boom. But are there any other issues?
What's the CC gov mode like for you? Not happy with mine, fluctuates +-200rpm. With 1912 & 13T pinion this tached at 2300rpm on 70% fixed throttle. In gov mode this means averages 2300rpm but exceeds 2500rpm often! I reduced this to an average of 2160rpm & peaks at 2380rpm which is a bit safer but my speedy is getting hot, 55C/131F. Am thinking of putting on 12T pinion and bumping curve back to where it was originally & at 2150rpm av. for a slightly safer & cooler set-up.
Before you can ask, no, don't want to get 55-10-32, add heatsinks & still have cut-offs!
Am waiting for the new Kontronik, but is what I suggested - 12T on CC ok to keep me going until then?

The CC holds headspeed very well. I lost all but one to static, it is in my 8S Logo.
My 10S Logo has the same motor and pinion as yours. With the CC I run FW version 1.56, 55% gov gain, current limiting diabled, start power 20, spool up 9, throtle response low. The governor works as well as the PJ or Jazz 55. Maybe you have an older unit. They have made some updates to them. When I get them back I will reinstall. The gov on the Schulze is same flight ot flight, but not as good flying hard 3D as the CC or Kontronik. The PJ was inconsitant flight ot flight, which made setup difficult, and the Jazz 55 with heatsinks would only last about 3 minutes.
