If the tail rotor contacts the ground the drive system will fail. I'm working on a change that will only let the tail fail if it hits the ground with a user specified force factor.

As for it happening in flight, I have to ask if you were doing anything near the ground or other objects. If you were not, then I need to investigate further. If you were, there is a pretty good chance that the tail touched down.

actually it is during spin up so the tail isn't hitting the ground. and happend in flight only about 10' of the ground.

Sometimes during spoolup if full negative is applied the tail rotor will touch and fail.Ive had it happen to me several times. Its most obvious on the heli that i built which has a little more power and collective authority.

The tail can hit the ground on spool up pretty easily. It happens in real life to. I managed to do it with my Ion just this last weekend.

happend in flight only about 10' of the ground.

I looked through the code for different ways to break the tail rotor. I did not see anything that I wouldn't expect.

If you think it is a bug, make a recording of a flight where the tail rotor breaks in the air and post it here or e-mail it to me.
