Hey, I just put together a little video about replacing the Blade CP stock tail boom with a $0.17 wood dowel.

Please let me know what you think and I'm also curious to know if anyone else has tried this.

Great idea, the only potential problem i see is in a bad landing the blades could smack the boom and cut the tail motor wires. Not hard to repair, but its one thing that may happen. Otherwise a good idea that will save some cash if you are beginning and crash alot.

Hmm... i haven't experienced that yet. Maybe it is because on a rough landing the tail boom usually snaps completely off. It breaks easily enough that it would probably break off before I can have a boom strike. Not sure...

i found that the alum wraped tail holds up true to those plastic blades
its a alum tube over the stock composit takes a beating and keeps going
