Let me start by saying I am completely new to heli's. The hurricane is my first one. I am now at the point of programming the radio and I have a few questions. First is with my normal and idle up modes. I have the pitch and throttle curves set for both on switch c but I would like for idle up to be with the switch in th middle and up. Right now normal mode is with the switch up. Is there any way to reverse this?

Second is with my gyro setup. I have a futaba 401 plugged into channels 4 and 5. Is the gyro sens screen where I setup a switch to go from rate mode to heading hold mode? If so what should these values be to start with?

There is a throttle hold menu and a throttle cut menu. Do I use the throttle hold or throttle cut for auto's? Also what values should these be set at?

What other programming do I need to do for basic flight? I will not be trimming it out but I would like it to be set up ok for the gu who will. I know these may sound dumb but please bear with me and thanks for all of your patience.

Do yourself a favor and unless you have a compelling reason not to, use a standard setup so that others can help you and you can help others later on. Switch E is what is normally used for flight modes with normal being away from you I1 in the center and I2 if you use it towards you.

Ensure that mode is set to GY
Pick a switch, lets say E
Rate up AVC 50
Rate dn NOR 50
are good starting points, always init the gyro with the switch in AVC and don't move the model till the light starts flashing

Throttle cut is for nitros, you want throttle hold for an electric with a value set so that the motor is off, default is 0 and that is probably all you need there. Don't forget to set your pitch curve, throttle hold is a separate flight condition and needs to be treated accordingly.
