Anyone else's DX7 noisy? I've always noticed the DX7 and the DX6 before it made a slight buzzing sound if you held your ear up to it in a quiet room. What i've been getting concerned about for about the last two weeks is that my DX7 now has a constant static sound emitting from it, kinda like the sound of snow on an empty TV channel. Does anyone elses do this or know what could be causing it? So far I haven't noticed any change in performance but i'm starting to wonder if this is something going bad in my radio which could lead to future in flight issues.

Yep it's normal. The funny thing is mine does that but also if I hover my finger slightly above the surface on the right cyclic covering, I can get a static shock!!! And it's constant whenever it happens. In the sim is the only time I've noticed it though!

You think it would cause cancer or birth defects? However it would be cool to have a son that can control helis with his mind in 2.4GHZ:YeaBaby:

I've heard the faint buzzing is coming from a small bobbin transformer inside the unit which is caused by a slight slackness in the coil winding. If it’s really bothering you a dab of hot glue would fix the problem but I wouldn’t touch it personally. Its normal for the DX7.

i've been playing around with my DX7, going through all the heli menus and i noticed that it doesn't buzz in system setup mode.

The DX7 only buzzez while it is transmitting the buzzing is caused by the interference between the speaking and the 2.4ghz signal

Ginvent is right, the pulsing of the two 2.4 signals is what you are hearing. My DX6 doesn't hum because its has the original DSM set-up (only one 2.4 signal).
I'm sure some study somewhere will say it causes cancer.....but it appears that everything causes cancer these days. It cant be any more cancerous than the heli hobby!!!!:YeaBaby:
