My horizontal fin has a his speed vibration once the head spead increases. What should I check first. It seems to go away when I bump the head spead down, but then the whole heli starts to wobble.
Also when in idle up the engine will rev and then settle back and forth. I'm not having much luck with this Stinger 50, any help would be appreciated.

Hey Dunbare,
Let me think on this one. Have you flown the Stinger at all? The main gear and spur gear are a tight fit and will usually mesh after a little time hovering around.
This could also be your engine changes, but not sure on that.
Did you have any binding when you installed the engine to make the motor mount fit the side frames? If you had binding, this could be too tight a fit of the clutch/motor into the clutch bell.
Tail vibration, could the belt be too loose or too tight?
I am just throwing out a few things. It's hard to put my finger on it, without looking at the problem first hand, but I will do the best I can to help you. The other Gohbee Reps might be able to even help more.

Hotshot Charlie,
I've hovered it around for about 6 tanks now. The mesh was tight in one spot, but seems to have smoothed out. I'm going to try replacing the clutch and pinion as a first step. Since I didn't have a way of dial indicating it, I've tried the clutch both ways and it didn't help. I've also checked the belt to no avail. I'm going to tinker with it a little more, but I don't want to keep replacing parts to a new heli that I just bought at the end of February.

Hi Dunbare,
Have you checked the balance and CG of the TT 600 blades?
There are around 10 sets flying at our field and they ALL have tape on them for balance.
I would also check the balance of the tail blades, although this is generally not a problem.
Check that the flybar paddles are both the same distance out.
To low of a head speed will cause a bad wobble.
Do you know what head speed you are running?
My head speed is at 1950 rpm.
Even an improperly set needle valve can cause a vibration.
These are my first places to check for vibration.
Let us how these checks come out.

Jeff,
I thought that might be a problem, so I tried the MAH blades that came with the kit. I haven't tached it yet, but I'll see. I have noticed that in normal mode there is little vibration. I would say that is around 1700-1750. But when I bump up to Idle 1 it the horizontal fin really starts to vibrate.
I will be at the Chattanooga fun-fly and realflight has offered to help look it over if I don't get it figured out.

Start shaft is what it is. I didnt dial indicate the one on my old Evo and the fins buzzed like BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ really fast and loud. Check the runout.
Or the tail hub is bent.
