Hello guys,
i got a used Fury Extreme, i cant really tell its exact age, but i added a few pics.

anyway, for those of you who knew the extreme along the line, is there anything that i should check and\or upgrade in this machine ?

what im mainly interested in, is it having updated parts (clutch, tail hub etc) - how do i check that ?

thanks !

I would recommend taking the head, tail gear box, clutch stack, main drive assemblies apart for inspection, lubrication and adjustment. Check the clutch driver assembly bearing for notchyness. Pay close attention to the bell mixers, there was a recall on these some time back, you could have the older ones, check the MA site for details.

Other than that do the obvious check and lube all bearings, replace the internal fuel lines, it's not a bad idea to disassemble the entire aircraft, inspect, lube and reassemble it, unless you are sure of the person that had it assembled and maintained it properly.

By the looks of the head, it's a few years old. I have the same one. The newer ones have a grey or metalic looking color. Same thing...different color. Definately take the tail box apart and reassemble per the manual. Make sure to get the mesh right. That is the key to a long lasting tail. It is probably the most effected by a bad build (IMO). When in doubt, get the new open tail. It is sweet! Aside form the standard checks, look at the wear on the main shaft at the auto one-way.

Looks pretty good in the pics. You'll love it.

It is really not that old. The head blocks were the last thing to be added to the kits in the titanium color. There was a good supply of the black head blocks when MA decided to change colors. So it was a while before they made it into the kits. That Extreme can be as little as a couple of years old.

I meant 2...that's what I was thinking, but I wrote "few". Damn words! A few is 3, I guess.
