is it possible to remove the ratchet throttle on the futaba 6exp 72mhz radio? it's driving me nuts. i've found a few people that mentioned that it can be done on some tx's, but didn't go into detail about how to do it. is there a tutorial somewhere, maybe with pics? thanks in advance for the help!

I'm going to assume its the same as the rest of the Futaba radios.

Remove the battery and backplate.

You will see a spring clip on the throttle axis thats held on by one phillips screw, its obvious, especially if you look in there while working the throttle stick you will see something that looks like a dime with the ridges on it and the spring clip.

Remove the screw, turn the spring clip over, insert the screw. You might have to bend it slightly to suit your taste but I just flipped it over on my real flight controller and it feels just like my 9chp.

i'll bet there are quite a few futaba owners whom don't know how to do that^ procedure. would it be worth making this a sticky? i could snap a few pics for it if needed.

I need to do that to my Real Flight controller soon.

I had to mod my RF, that thing was driving me nuts.

if you're all using castle creations esc's, and if you mod your tx you might need to go into your epa's for the throttle channel and lower the low point. after doing the mod, the esc would not read zero stick to initialize. i tore my hair out trying to figure out why it wouldn't initialize, then remembered doing the mod. just an fyi.
oh, also even though i've flipped over the metal tab that the ratchet clicks on, it still felt a bit notchy. i actually had to bend a concaved curve into the clip as well as grind a little bit of the nubs off. smooth as butter now.

Here is what I did on my Real Flight controller.

I flipped the spring over and reinstalled the screw.

Then I added 4 ounces (automotive stick on wheel weights) of weight inside.

The combonation is just what I needed !!!!
