It was a beautiful mild (for January in Canada) day today with the temperature around 40 deg so I decided to take my heli out for a few flights. after a couple batteries of nose in hovering and slow figure 8's I decided it was time to try a flip for the first time. I got it up to about 50 feet or so and went for it. It was not pretty, more of a small loop than a flip. I was still above the tree tops at the completion and the nose was facing a little to the right.I was so excited that I had to run and tell my wife who came outside to watch as I completed another 10 flip/loops:happyd:YeaBaby: :happyd:YeaBaby:
It did not flip nearly as fast as I was expecting it to, I think I need to speed up my cyclic some more. I have the Aileron and Elevator set to 50% in the swash menu and I have the Gorilla paddles with full weights in them. I know removing the weight's from the paddles will speed up the cyclic but what about going to a longet flybar? I am running the stock 450L motor with a 13 tooth pinion and a 100-95-90-95-100 TC and a +11/-11 PC so I don't think the HS is a problem.
PS how do you measure your cyclic pitch?

Re: Cyclic Pitch: Are you sure it isn't outlined in the CCPM videos by FInless? A pictures worth a million typed words.

Back flips are the hardest. That loop thing you are talking about I think everyone does on their first back flip. It's more of half a tic toc though because you are bring your stick down to fast. It's an optical illusion you have to bring your stick down but don't pass 0 until you are past the | vertical point. Hard to explain. Think about how tic tocs work and avoid that happening by taking away positive pitch so it doesn't hit you in the face but not apply huge negative until you are past the | so it doesn't shoot out away from you. Rolls and front flips are just easier. The tail throws you mind off the pivot point. I guess.
