I'm trying to build a solution for a light weight camera mount.. I think I
m on to something.
Here's a couple shots of a mount that I'm building for the TREX600 N/E/
I should be able to hook it up to the front of either one. I'm trying to to come up with a package deal that I quickly mount to the TREX600 series heli for some cool shots and a cheap price..
Any Ideas?????
The concept, is to pop of the Canopy, and the twist of a few screws, your up and running. ....
Anyways, just an Idea..

Are you planning on running 2 spektrum RXs on one helicopter?

Hey...is that the frame from an HDX-300?
Good use for it if it is :)

Yep,, that's a HDX300 Frame,,, Modified,,
I've learned to save a CF frames for just such an occassion...
I'm still tinkering with the setup. But it will require a 12 Channel or an extra ///////////////////spectrum DX6 Radio,

I went to the www.airfoilhelicams.com (http://www.airfoilhelicams.com) site..
I want to do something a little differant...
I'm going to mold a Fiber Glass Canopy that might look a little weird, for the TREX600E/N that allows for a Jack Shaft /cam type mount.
I've already tested the weights and Head balance....
It's much smoother than the under mount.
I loaded the approximate dead weight on the mount and camera to 3 Lbs on a sim mounted flight. Lift and agility was greater than the required weight that I was using under the Heli... And landing orientation was easier for me, when the Heli sat naturally verses raised with a 7 inch platform 9 inch Skid spread with foam. .

Randall, I certainly don't wish to be rude, but what have you made the camera mount from? It looks like you have painted it in red and yellow camouflage...

That mount was used as a tail Cam mount that Matched the Helis paint scheme.
I pulled it off and changed the mouting system for Pan Tilt and Light weight.
It was mounted solid to the boom supports.
The Pivot system and frame support came from a HDX300. I squeezed a HT digital Futaba between the frame and mounted a AR6000 on top. That very colorful box uo front has a JR821 servo for shutter control. And I'm mounting a 65MG to the side f it for tilt. There is also a bracket that's not shown which mounts underneath for a 2.4 Spreadspectrum downlink.
I know it looks pretty ugly at this point, but after i get it up and working, I'll be tearing it all back apart and fabricating CF/CLR molded frame system that should be worthy and more cosmetically correct..
