I'm not familiar with charging lipo's and I have been reading and learning but I'm running into problems. I started with a Parkzone battery and charger, no problem, just push a button and charge. After reading I thought I should take care of my batteries so I bought a Bantam BC6. After flying yesterday I charged both of my batteries, today neither one was charged completely :thinking

I'm curious about the charging levels. I read that I should charge at 1 or 2 C. The BC6 charging current listed in amps (A). I was charging at 0.1A

What should I be charging at? Also how much voltage should each cell show at the end of the charge cycle?

Does the BC6 have a 11.1v discharge cycle? I can't seem to find it in the menu. :dontknow

You did not mention the number of cells/voltage you are using.

Charging at .1 amp is 100 mah. That is the lowest setting. You want to charge at 1C. C is the capacity of the battery. So if your using a 3S 2200, set the charge rate at 2.2 amps or 2200 mah.

Final voltage will be 4.2V per cell, 12.6V for a 3S pack.

Thanks!

I am charging 2200 3S packs. Soooo, I think what is happening is that the timer on the BC6 stopped charging at 120 minutes and at the low setting I didn't get charged.

What about the discharge cycle for 3s packs? I can't seem to find out how to get to it, I have found discharge for other sizes but not 3s?

When you select the Lipo Discharge, you then have to select the discharge rate, press Enter. Now the # of cells/voltage will flash, use the 2 middle keys to change the value. Press and hold Enter to Start the process.

Why would you want to discharge a Lipo anyhow? Other than to store it I mean, and there's a storage program for that.

you could have also been charging in storage charge mode, or quick charge mode which is 95% cap.

You should never discharge a lipo unless you are looking to monitor something specific, but you can do the same in Storage mode knowing you will not damage your pack.

Always balance charge.
The BC6 at 1C (2.2A) will balance your packs in about 40mins.

Fast charge is also balanced.
