I thought my MX400 Pro motor was getting way to hot so I
don't fly it alot.
But I got a Medusa 'Oracle' flight data recorder and checked
it out with that. Here's a copy of the read out.
Note the motor is turning 27000 rpm.
The rotor head is turning about 2300 rpm.
In a steady hover its only drawing 12 and 1/2 amps.
Not shown on graph is that its consuming 133 watts.
The motor temp went to 130* and was starting to level off till
I landed. Then the heat went up because there was no air
blowing down on it.
The heli is kind of heavy with a 2200 mah lipo and also an FMA
co-pilot on board. The co-pilot is awesome by the way....
When I touch the motor with my fingers, it felt really hot... but
I guess its not all that hot after all.
So, maybe I'll fly it a little more.
PS...the formula 3 scale is actually the head speed.
