Hi,

First of all I would just like to say that as a relative noob to heli's you can imagine my delight when I found this place, this forum is quite simply AMAZING.

I'm having a small panic attack about charging my new Align Lipo pack 6s1p 22v 4600mah. My recently acquired Robbe Power Peak Fun Duo charger has no balancer with it, do I need a balancer before I attempt charge this baby?? I'm not convinced that the charger is the best for the job, does anyone have any experience with this or could they please give me some recommendations as to which charger to get. If this charger is ok then any suggestions on decent balancers would be appreciated.

I'm itching to run up the motor in my 600 but don't want to cook my £189 battery pack!!

Thanks Guys

Your charger is fine but for 6S, better charge at a lower rate, say 0.8C as the charger's power is 90W. For me, I'm not always balance charge my battery as I know for sure my battery characteristic, the are pretty much balance after discharge. Align is a top battery brand and I believe once a while charge without a balancer is fine but I do suggest you to balance charge the pack until you have confident that the battery is well balanced after charge and discharge.

e-Station PB6 is a good companion balancer to your charger.

A cheap easy solution to your problem is the astro flight blinky balacer. It will fit your balace lead without an adapter and will only cost you 25$. Tower sells them along with many others. You can balance while you charge or after you charge.
