Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies.
We do not have any information about this to share.
Please note that what you read on the Internet forums often is incomplete and typically does not have all the information you need to know. There is usually more to the story.
Since this is an ongoing situation between Hobbico and Phoenix, we are unable to comment at this time.
Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies. We appreciate your time and your business with us.

Interestingly enough when I went through the trying process of asking Hobbico/GreatPlanes/Tower thier side, I got return phone calls twice. They said they'd look into it and never got back to me. If they want people to hear both sides of a story, they kinda gotta tell thiers!

I believe what they are skirting around is they are being sued and can't comment. Go Pheonix go!

Hi Mike Smith. I noticed you "censored" your email address and your real name from the top of the page.
If you were wondering how I knew your name was Mike, it's because you signed the letter at the bottom. :)
I believe what they are skirting around is they are being sued and can't comment. Go Pheonix go!
My personal speculation:
For breach of contract, I'd assume.
And Im sure it would be Phoenix is the Plaintiff in this case.
Otherwise you'd be seeing some other exclusive (or non-exclusive) US distributor by now.

It had my middle initial which I didn't want to share and I wanted the post to be either exactly as it read or to say CENSORED where I edited it. I signed it Mike Smith because I am not trying to hide who I am.

sounds to me as if tower thinks were thickos...again - we know why you're not stocking it tower, what we want is you to admit your unethical business practice - it's about time you started acting in the best interests of your customers, not your bean counters!
also i notice there isnt a personal signature at the bottom of the tower brushoff?

I would not be surprised if some posts here at HF will be used in such a litigation to demonstrate the significant US demand for Phoenix.
BTW, have we heared anything from Phoenix about their side of the story? I am not sure if there was any official public communication from Phoenix.

I did that right after I removed it. It does say don't copy or disclose the email at the bottom so yeah I asked them.
I don't think they will mind they said basically they are having problems with support and promotion of their product with their U.S. distributors at the moment. Please buy it directly from us and we will eat a bunch of the shipping charge to get it to you in 3 days.
I will post the actually email when permission is given.

Dear Creator of Phoenix Flight Simulator,
I went to the Tower Hobbies website and it is out of stock. Then I looked around for a local vendor and couldn’t find any. After posting a question in my favorite forum I heard Tower Hobbies got you to sign exclusive rights to carry it in the U.S. but isn’t stocking Phoenix because they carry Real Flight. If this is true a lot of people are going to be very unhappy with Hobbico.
I want to give you fair warning that I will pass whatever information I get from you along to my friends. I will still buy Phoenix from you guys no matter what you say as I hear it is the best on the market. A lot of us really want to know what is really going on though.
Thanks for reading my email,

Hi Mike
Thank you for your enquiry regarding PhoenixRC.
We are having problems with the support and promotion of our product by our US distributors at the present time.
So please purchase from our on-line shop www.phoenix-sim.com (http://www.phoenix-sim.com) under purchase.
We charge a special rate to the US of only £5.00 (approx $10 US) for FedEx priority shipping.
This means that you receive your shipment within 2-3 days and can track it to your address from the FedEx website. (www.fedex.com (http://www.fedex.com))
Best Regards

Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies.
You do not have all the information, only one side. We are unable to comment due
to the ongoing dispute between the parties, otherwise you may have come to a
wholly different conclusion.

I responded back that they are alluding to the fact that they have been wronged by Runtime. I said it doesnt take a genius to figure out even if Phoenix did stop shipping it and not the "rumored" fact that G/P hasnt purchased any, still would stem from the fact that they never promoted the product. Every catalog I would receive would have two big pages dedicated to Realflight, but not even a line item in the back for Phoenix. Also mentioned that this really isnt in the best interest of the hobbiest and they should be trying to provide the best products available to their customers. Or atleast the choice. Still not going to do any good, you know they got to hate getting these type of emails though.:tongue
