I was just wondering if people are using a v-curve for the GV-1 or 100% flat throttle curve. This is my first govenor. Any help would be appreciated.

ok Never use 100% flat this can be very dangerous if any thing goes wrong with the gov.
I set up my curves for flight without a gov first, and then set the gov to activate with use of the throt, this works well, and if any thing did go wrong, throw a mag or the gv-1 stop for what ever reason, then I can continue to fly safe, and are able to land as normal...

I concur. Setup and fly the curves BEFORE you completely install the governor, and you will have a baseline setup in case the governor fails.

For me it was surprising how close a linear normal curve worked and a idle up of 100, 60, 100 for idle up. Turning off my GV1 actually dropped head speed and I could got from FF to hover and land without worry of over reving or too little head speed.
So yes i agree to work on your non-gov curves but this worked pretty well as a good safe setup should the gov go south.

I've got a boxful of broken rods from too high a curve under the governor and the governor fail. It's amazing what can get changed while swapping out bearings...
thing's like the position of the throttle arm, even though it looks close to the old setup, can be off a little higher or lower without catching your eye.
Depends on how much care you take during repairs, me I'd rather fly sometimes and rush to get done..
