View Full Version : Tail wagging
After tightening the the tail drive belt I noticed on the next flight that the tail appears to be wagging ever so slightly. I don't think it was wagging before I tightened the tail drive belt.
I am using a gy-401 in hh mode.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Try lowering you gain a few points, if this don't work check to see if that linkage has any slop, and this may sound funny but look to see if you tail rotors are turning the right way. I hope this can help

Yeah nitro burner is correct, try lowering your gyro gain through your radio, this should stop the wagging. When you tightened your belt you made your tail work more efficiently, therefore the gain setting which you previously had may be a little too high, lowering the gain by 2-4% should work. :)

Also remove the front ball link off the rudder servo ball and feel the linkage from the servo end and see if there is any binding or slop. Then check your tail bellcrank on the tail box to make sure it is not loose. Just make sure overall that your linkage is as free as possible without slop.
Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll take it step at a time and let you know how things work out. Now that I have an idea on what to look at.
Thanks again,
Ed
