I've recently purchased a TREX 450SEV2 kit that i'm in the process of building,(what a blast)anyway this is where i need your guys advice and expertise.
Although my flying capabilities are limited to my E-Flight CX2 ,I've been bitten by the heli building and flying bug. My question is for my electronics...I'm thinking of a Spektrum RX-7 with the AR7000,and the HITECH HG-5000 w/ the HSG 5038MG tail servo, and then the (3) HS-5065MG's for cyclic. In your honest opinions am I biting off more than I can Chew? I just want a well built and capable flying heli, not that I'll be able to fly it to it's capabilities, but if I progress I'd like to know that I have a machine that can dish it out. On another note I've just ordered a RAPTOR 30 nitro to build would these afformentioned electronic componenents be suitable for a 30 size nitro? of course with the addition of a throttle servo. Any suggestions or advice wil be greatly apreciated , THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Sounds like you have one hell of a setup going for your 450. Unfortunately, the gyro is the only piece that will be transferable to the Raptor (Without some modifications).

Anybody actually have the 5065s available yet? The non-digtal 65s work fine. And are less of a load on the BEC. With all digitals, definitely add a Dimension Engineering SportBEC.

The Hitec gyro and servo seem like a nice set. A little more involved to set up than a 401. And a 401 will work fine on the Raptor, so you can have the same setup, less things to remember. :)

You don't need an AR7000 for a Trex, many people are flying them with a AR6100E (I am). Save the AR7000 for the Raptor.

Sound advice Pinecone, I might add if it's not too late get the raptor 50 as you will grow out of the 30 size. 50 size is the best of both worlds cheaper to fix but more stable in flight closer to the 90. The guy's at my field fly 90's but also have 50's for banging around with. Less pricey to repair a 50 for sure.
