I've been trying to learn to hover on simulator. Most of the control is with the right hand. I am left handed and was wondering if this could make it more difficult to control. Is being a lefty an issue for the way the stardard TX is layed out?

Thanks for any advice.

Tx in mode 2 is laid out like a real one. You fly most airplanes and helis (with a stick) with your right hand, but some are flown with the left (Airbus airliners from the left seat, some of htenew composite light planes with side sticks).

You just learn to deal with it.

i'm a southpaw, who does almost everything left handed. i've never tried mode 1, but somehow it just doesn't seem right having the throttle on the right.

Think about it this way.. In a full scale airplane, the pilot usually sits on the left. Left hand is on the yoke and the right hand operates the throttle.. Now, most people, being right handed, feel "awkward" at 1st, but eventually it becomes natural to them.

One of the full scalers I fly I sometimes have to fly with my left hand on the cyclic (To change frequencies/tweak the GPS etc..) and when I 1st had to do this, I had a hard time holding altitude and course. Now I don't even think about it.

Same thing with an RC Heli. Eventually it won't be an issue being left or right handed.

I'm a lefty too, and learned with mode 2. Never used mode 1 before, so 2 is just natural. You are going to be constantly moving all four channels, so it's just a matter of which channels you want where.
Now pistol grip tx is a different story...
