I know that this has been covered before, but I am getting vastly different results depending on my calculator? I am not sure which is considered the main gear, 61 or 42T? This is my setup. 6s (2x 3s) 1100 gaui motor and 13T pinion. Everything else is stock.
Thanks.

I have the exact same motor, pinion, and gearing as you. i just maidened my Hurricane on sunday and we did tach it in normal mode. I am running the gaui 75 amp esc in default and my throttle curve is 0-70-75-75-75. This is my first heli so thae guy helping me went easy on the throttle. On freshly charged packs I was getting 2030rpm and after a couple of minutes i was getting 1950 i think. I was using Zippy-H 3300mah 3 cell packs. They didn't even get warm just hovering around. Not bad for 40$ batteries. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. Where did you get those packs from, do you know anyone who has had a couple (say 40 or so) flights with them with mild sport flying?
That HS calc is great. How do I put a 42 T front gear in though?

I got the packs from unitedhobbies.com I don't know of anyone who has used them in the hurricane as they are pretty new but some of the people I fly with have used smaller zippy packs in airplanes pulling close to 20c with no problems. I have just been hovering with mine and have only cycled them three times but they are barely warm to the touch and are staying pretty well balanced so far. The packs also come with a 90 day no puff warranty. I have puffed hextronic packs from united that didn't have the no puff guarantee and they replaced them after I sent a picture in.
