You are probably going to think this is a trivial question but I need a bit of assistance anyway. I recently had a friend build my Extreme with all the goodies, except for a wiz-bang radio (Futaba 8UHP). We installed a GV-1 and for some reason I can't figure out how to program it to shut off the governor when I hit the throttle hold switch. I have to shut off the GV-1 before I hit the throttle hold switch. This is probably a very simple programming issue I am overlooking but I am stumped.

I realize that I am providing very limited information such as how I have everything set up. But, it is probably very similar to how we all set up our machines. I just can't seem to get this last bit accomplished.

Any responses/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if I need to provide additional information on how the radio and helicopter are currently set up.

Thanks

Is it an 8UHPS or the non super?

If it is the super make sure you are using the GOV menu.
If not I am at a loss. :D

I imagine you will need to assign it to the 3 position IDLE up switch.
Then when it goes to hold it should shut off.
That is what I did with mine for a brief time, but I had the Super.

Get the 8U radio programming book from Don Edberg.
If you don't have a copy handy then give me a shout I have one I will sell since my 8U is relegated to camera mount work now. :D

It is the Super. I do have a copy of Don's book and I will see what the GOV section has to say.

Thanks

The easiest and simpliest way to make it go to idle when throttle hold is engaged.
Is to go into the menu in the GV1 and activate the stick switch. By doing this then the GV1 will turn off when the stick is pulled to idle. Throttle hold is usually set to allow the engine to idle. So when throttle hold switch is activated and stick switch is used in the GV1. The GV 1 will turn off when throttle hold is activated.

You can use the manual that came with the 8Super. It will explain how to set the GV1 up also if you do not want to use stick switch.

I have always used stick switch on the GV1.

Hey thanks for the help guys! I was able to dig into Don's manual and along with your responses, figure it out.
