i'm wondering if it's possible to series charge a 3 cell lipo (electrifly lipo, with 'safecharge' technology no balance leads) on the dn power charger that ready offers. here is the charger http://www.readyheli.com/DN_Power_Micro_Controlled_LiPo_Li_Lon_G2_Balance_C _p/dncharger.htm
it looks like if i use the generic adaptor in the middle, and make a deans lead, as long as the + is on the cell #3 line and the - is on the negative it should work, right? i just don't want to lose a pack trying.

Yes. I have a foamie 3D plane and the battery for that does not have a balance connector...I charge it directly through the JST connector without issue. I simply used the green "do it yourself" terminal and made leads for it.

thanks for replying. i did the same thing last night, just made up a jst lead with the green generic adaptor and it worked good. the weird thing is, the charger displayed the cell voltages as all different. how is that? the charger had to be reading the pack in series because there wasn't one wire going to each cell like a balance connector. yet, it read different voltages each cell and appeared to balance them as they all ended up at 4.19v- right on the money. any ideas?

Yeah, I noticed that with mine too. Even though it's charging in series without balancing them, they are pretty damn close every time! I really like this charger, I've had it for a little over a year now.

damn close? they end up spot on everytime with mine! these electrifly "safecharge circuitry" lipos say never to balance them, that they can't be balanced. i guess they are wrong! thanks for replying though, glad to hear someone else is doing the same thing as me with no issues.

Why tou guys charge your batteries in series with the green connector and not the in the balance connector? is it faster to charge the batteries in series??
Thanks everyone
