Please help me locate and communicate with Mike regarding the purchase of an intrepid 90 from ebay. I completed the purchase on the 3rd, he finally responded to my wife on the 7th, however the guy still isn't sending the heli or responding again. I really hope he hasn't screwed me on the purchase because I can't afford to just give away 800$. I posted once earlier and was reassured that he is a good guy from Zoom's hobbies in California. I will give him probably one more day. I am really up in arms on this since I am no longer in the US and have a hard time even making a phone call since it is almost 12 hours difference in time for me. I appreciate anyone's help on this.

Have you tried to call Zooms Hobbies directly and ask for him?

Duh...never mind...I just saw your last sentence...it is hard to make a phone call!

I did just email Zooms and asked if Mike is actually associated with Zooms to try to get him to contact you and make it right...as this type of thing also reflects on Zoom's since you have associated Mike with Zoom's in your first thread...so I think they would have a vested interest in the outcome now also...

This is Scott Leif. I am the owner of Zoom's.. I also resonded in your previous thread. This thread was pointed out to us by a board member... I wanted to chime in and let you know that there is not and never has been a Mike Gulinello working for us.. That helicopter on the other hand looks like one which at one point was owned by our previous manager Mike Smith who was Bergen Rep and a very honest guy. I know he sold that particular machine nearly a year ago.. By the way, our ebay ID is zoomshobbies.

I will check with Mike Smith and see if he remembers who he sold it to.. Our current Manager is Mike Embry and does not and never had a Bergen.

Sincerely,
Scott Leif

Scott...thanks for chiming in here and clearing at least some of the mystery up! as in that it is no one associated with Zooms! Thats GREAT!!!

I too hope that 58dgrizz gets his heli at some point soon...but I am sure he is now feeling even more apprehensive over the deal now that he knows that the guy is not associated with respectable heli shop...:(

It turns out that this guy was a customer of ours.. I will PM you the contact info I have for him.

I did leave a message for him at the number. Not sure if it is the right number though as there is a womans voice on the answering machine. I will let you know if I hear anything back. The address is not to far from here so if you dont hear anything back from this guy in the next few days, I will try to stop by their house. I will be at a trade show Friday and Saturday and will drive by there Saturday on my way back through town if you dont hear anything. Nothing like a little curb side collections.

If he did ship it out last week and you are on the other coast, I would expect about a week in transit.. If he did not ship it and we have a correct address that I can make contact with, I will see if we can assist it getting you the heli even if we have to ship it for him. No promises, but I will do what I can.

Can you post the eBay auction ID? The link you posted in your other thread did not work.

Sincerely,
Scott

First off I want to express my etreme gratitude to Scott for all the help he has provided in this transaction. I spoke with him on the phone and he first made sure I understood that Mike Gulinello is not and has not been associated with Zoom's hobbies, instead of leaving it at that he also took it upon himself to research the disposition of the helicopter. He went way above and beyond a concerned hobby shop owner and even offered to go to the gentleman's house and pick it up and ship it. My wife spoke with Scott last night and I think they worked it all out. I am deeply in your debt for all of your help. I am truely impressed by the generosity of Scott with his time and concern for me getting the helicopter I purchased. I will be using Zoom's for all of my purchases I can in the future with an owner who is that interested in the well being of fellow hobbiest and our hobby. I also want to say thank you to Greg for helping me with getting to the bottom of this purchase. Thank you everyone for reaffirming for me and my wife how great of a hobby I am in, not just the toys but the people involved!

Well after reading this a few times and not seeing any phone # or link to Zooms, I was going to ask about it.
I figure a store that obviously has a great reputation for customer service should be on my list of go-to places to shop.

I looked into it and figured I'd put it up in case anyone else is wondering.

Gotta go browse for stuff to buy now. :YeaBaby:

I am sorry for the confusion, I am trying to complete the purchase of a bergen intrepid 90 that on the listing the guy said it was owned by one of the people from zooms. I mistakenly associated him with Zoom's. I have since been in contact with the owner of Zooms and Scott is a hell of a nice guy and I will be making as many purchases from his store as my hobby needs and his store supports. I am greatly appreciative of his great support and assistance with trying to get this heli I have already paid for. I am disappointed that the guy I paid still has not delivered the helicopter. My wife is very upset with having it on her shoulders and I am tired of the lame excuses from this guy. I wish I was more patient and not tried to get this thing before I came back over to Iraq. Oh well live and learn I guess, I am lucky though that there are such good people like Scott and Greg who have done their best to help me even though it really isn't their problem. I really thank them!

+1. Can't believe someone would rip off a fellow hobbiest like that.

Yeah I agree 100% the latest so far is that I have not received the heli and the guy doesn't even live in California. His excuse is that he has fallen on hard times and is making some drastic changes in his life right now, although he was quick to take my money! He now lives in Las Vegas, from what he told my wife. I paid right away on the 2nd of Jan and it is the 26th with no helicopter. I have a tracking number that he has promised my wife that he shipped the heli, however it doesn't track at all on the internet, and of course the post office here in Iraq can do nothing for me. My wife is a bit upset with me and told me if I wanted a big helicopter I should have just bought new, the saved money is so not worth the hassle. I am very disappointed in this guy, I am proud to have spoken to Scott at Zooms and think the guy is a hell of a nice guy. I don't have much option besides wait another week, if it doesn't show I am going to attempt to get my money back either through my credit card or paypal, I don't have high hopes.

Don't wait more than 30 days to dispute it with your credit card. I'd do it now as after 30 days its much harder to get a complaint in. I had an issue one time with a muffler I bought on the internet from auto parts warehouse and it came wrong and I sent it back for a refund and waited and waited and waited and it became a nightmare after they said it went to another warehouse and then they lost it and they were not refunding me. Eventually I got my money back from the credit card company but I think they just gave it to me as I had proof that I sent it back and it was delivered (tracking number). They told me much easier to complain within 30 days than afterwards with a charge about a merchant so advise you to do the same.

I would make a police report locally, notify the NV District Atty wherever the guy is supposed to be and dispute online then in writing with copies of what you have and a promise to prosecute.

That usually get some action started.

I appreciate everyone's advice and I will be starting the process of complaint with pay pal and ebay today. I wasn't sure if the local law enforcement would take any interest in it since it is online. I am not sure who I would call, would I call the sheriffs office there? I will call my wife tonight and find out the exact address of the guy and at least give his local sheriff a call. I am still hopeful that the helicopter will show up, just as I said before disappointed that it has been such a hassle for my wife to deal with. He has been the only one that has ever caused me problems. I have had a great time learning from this website and run ryder. Finless has be instrumental in my flying and motivating me to keep trying.

You had me going for a minute there

I would say I have learned a lot from both sites, run ryder and here. I prefer the Freak because of personal preference, but I do look at both sites and get lots of good info. I don't know much about the past conflicts other may have had and would make my own opinion. I just want the helicopter I purchased and hope very much that when I come home to fly it with some of the people I have encountered here. There are a lot of great people in this hobby that you can learn a lot more than just how to fly a helicopter from.

I mean every time I log on RR, the threads end up turning into pissing matches. Maybe I'm the only one that's noticed that though.

Wife had to make a couple of calls but got a hold of someone at the "Post Office" not sure who she talked to at what level but the tracking number does come up in their system and it is a 30lb box, so as long as it isn't full of the bull that the guy has been feeding my wife then I think it is finally going to be done. I appreciate everyone's support on this and I hope my complaining on here hasn't been too tiresome. I received exactly what i was hoping to, some help and guidance on what to do, thank you!

As far as RR, yeah seems like you can't even sell something without someone flaming you for either gramar, spelling, or even asking what you feel is a fair price. And don't leave the price off of your item or watch out....lol... still good info on there if you wade through the BS, one of the many reason's I prefer the Freak.

Yeah! Finally received my helicopter after 5 very long weeks of back and forth with this guy. I am disappointed in this guy for causing me such hassle and making my wife chase him down to get this accomplished. I wanted to say thank you to Chris Bergen, Greg Alderman and Scott from Zoom's hobbies for all their help and advice on how to handle this issue. I am very proud to be part of a hobby that has such great people in it. I look forward to my return and getting the opportunity to fly with some of you guys and see this wonderful aircraft when I get home. Here are some pictures of it before my wife packs it away in the garage to wait for me to get home and play with it.
