During rebuild today, I noticed that the manual appears to have you rotate the tail belt the wrong way upon install.
It says to turn it 90 degress clockwise. I believe it should be counter-clockwise so the tail-blade spin up into the downdraft. This spin direction would also match the way the illustration shows the tail blades mounted.

Just wanted to let people know, for 1st time builder's.

If I am way off base, somebody please correct me!

Clockwise is correct. Your tail pulley on the main frame will be rotating counterclockwise so if you rotate the belt 90 degrees clockwise, the tail pulley in the frame will be pulling the bottom of the belt, in regards to the rear tail pulley. This will make you tail spin counterclockwise and up into the main blades down-draft. Does that make sense?

don't think so. if your main blades rotate clockwise looking down on the heli, you have to make a counterclockwise 90 degree belt rotation to get the tail moving in the right direction.....the bottom of the belt pulling forward.

If your main blades rotate clockwise, your tail drive pulley in the frame rotates counterclockwise, thus the need for the clockwise belt rotation.

are we talking here about just two gears, the main gear and the tail pulley gear?

I think the original question was regarding the build of a Huri 550 which has a tail gear/pulley driven by the main gear. The tail drive pulley in the frame rotates opposite the main gear/rotor.

if you're looking at the front opening of the boom, the belt needs to be twisted clockwise to make the tr blades rotate counterclock when looking at them from the right side of the heli. the manual that came in mine stated a clockwise twist.

Looking from which end of the boom? :)

My bad! I saw the 200 At the head of the topic and immediately assumed that heli. sorry.

My double bad, forgot to say this was a 550.
And I was wrong anyway.
My tail-belt was twisted despite my best efforts to make sure Top of belt was really the top.

Found out you have to stick a flashlight in the boom to make sure the belt is straight, despite it feeling so.
It also helps to have writing or make a mark on the belt, so you have a reference point when you push it through the body to insure you still know where "top" is.

Sorry everyone for the confusion, and thanks for the help.
