OK, i've wanted one of these for a while now and i'm close to pulling the trigger but am wanting some input from the Mikado Freaks as to what motors and pinion setups work well for a 6S 5000mah setup. Please list some motors for me to consider and any pros and cons with each.
Just for some background i'm coming from a 450 running a Neu 1107 at 3340rpm and a Trex600 an XL and currently fly what amounts to mild3D but am constantly improving so I need something to grow into that has some nuts. I thought about dumping money into motor and higher voltage batts for the 600 but the $$ and performance seem like they will be far better on the Logo running batts I currently already own.

I'm using the Hacker A40 10L on 6S (some packs from my T600) and the performance is nuts - I like the 4350 packs best which give a fairly full on flight time of ~ 6:30 with Rotortech 515 blades which gives 2100 HS with 14t on 85% throttle.

Neu 1910/1Y/H here, and again, performance is insane. And that is swinging the 560mm rotors, too. I've heard others say the agility is higher with the shorter blades, but this setup has proven to be plenty agile for me, not to mention stupid insane climb rate.

I'm running the Hacker A40-10L 8 pole with a 15T (Jazz 80 @ 85%) and getting 2320 HS on Rotortech 560mm blades. With +/-13 pitch and 7.5 cyclic this thing blows any TRex600 out of the air and has lots of cyclic response. Right now I'm running FP EVOlite 6S 5350 and they weigh 700g and delivery plenty of charge. Flying weight is exactly 6lb. I was thinking of adding a FP EVO25 6S 5000 but I think the weight savings compensates better with the EVOlite 5350.
Flight times are also good with the Logo 500. Tooling around in idle 1 (80%) gives me more than 7 minutes but in idle 2 at hard 3D I set the timer for 5:30 and put back about 4 Ah.
Today I was flying at the park and a guy who owns a T600 was blown away by the power and agility. Its almost as agile as my T450 (but with more stability) now that I've turned up pitch and cyclic. I would still buy this again after all the helicopters I've seen since then.

Have not much time on either of my 500s but what I have in them for motors currently I feel from the few flights I had that I am happy with them.
In my flybared machine I have a Plettenberg Heli Expert 25-8 with 14tooth pinion.
In my Vstabi Machine I currently have the Zpower 1150kv redesigned "black" motor, this running the 15tooth HB pinion.
Both these seemed to have tons of ballz, which is what I prefer indeed. ;)

Thanks for the replies guys, just when i get a handle around all the different motors for the Trexes I now get to go back to the start of the learning for the logo's needs:).
Basically i'm looking to keep a 5-5.5 minute flight time and as much performance out of the thing and adhere to about 75% battery usage. Also I notice that there are .5mod and .7mod gears. I'm assuming this is the tooth size. Can someone fill me in on what the differences are and the theoretical pros and cons and maybe the real life pros and cons.
Thanks

I went with mod 0.7 because others here mentioned that the deeper groove of the teeth should prevent stripping with higher power. So far I've been happy with mod 0.7 and its very quiet. With mod 0.5 you get more teeth engaged between pinion and main gear but not sure if that is an advantage over the deeper cut of the 0.7. It also gives you a different gear ratio range. I think most setups here are using mod 0.7.
Mod 0.5: 17T->23T (ratios: 12.47, 11.78, 11.16, 10.60, 10.10, 9.64, 9.22)
Mod 0.7: 13T->19T (ratios: 11.77, 10.93, 10.20, 9.56, 9.00, 8.50, 8.05 )
You can use my head speed calculator to work out pinion choice based on motor/main gear and desired head speed.
