I was installing my cnc grips in the new cnc head block from Gaui and found that one of my grips was completely tight no rotation without force.
I thought that perhaps the block was to wide thus tightening the spindle to tight on the bearings (no)
I then checked the thrust bearings for grease and the compression of the bearings into the grips again (no)
It turned out to be the small plastic caps that hold in the rubber dampeners into the head block. ne of these the side of concern had a bevel in the cap that heald the rubber in place thus giving a slight pressure on the grip enough to cause binding. I had to file down the bevel till flat and all solved everything moves freely now.
Perhaps in the plastic head block there was enough of a tolerance to compensate for this and it was no concern.
I hope this will help someone if they are looking for any cause of grip tension in the cnc head.
Thanks
Mark
