Hay all,

I have just come back from a LHS, where I was told first of all that the mini titan is crap, etc etc I think the guy at this shop was just being an ass and full of himself, as he went on to say they now have the sold distribution for T-rex.

He also said that there is a big difference in setting up a heli for sea level as apposed to altitude. I did not want to ask him to explain. So, anyways sorry for the rant.

Can anyone tell me if and if so, what need to be done in regards to setup, as I live about 5000 feet/ 1000m above sea level, I am aware that the air is thinner up here. Although I am a scuba diver and know the difference is 1 bar at sea level and 0.85 up here so only a diff of 0.15 of a bar. Is this such a bit difference for our heli setup?

thanks in advance.

for an electric, you will notice it takes a bit more RPM to generate the same or nearly the same lift.
On a nitro machine you will definately see a loss of power same as in your car at altitude vs sea level.
OTOH if you learn to fly at altitude, you won't notice anything spectacular until you try to fly at sea level.

I think the mini titan is crap too, but its relative and subject to opinion. They fly pretty decent, and can be made to kick butt, the trex is a lot more popular though. Buy what you can; A.) find local setup/flying support for and B.) what you can get parts support for.
There will almost always be something better on the horizon, and the newset thing is percieved to be the 'Best'. Buy what suits you, and your budget.
If you wait for the next 'great' thing, you'll never buy a heli, so jump in befpre you get sucked in. ;)

*cough* Those T-Rex people just can't stomache the competition or the thought that they aren't king of the hill anymore, they have to share. :D

Wayne, I'm just curious, what don't you like about it?

Hmm, weight, plastic frames and the resulting flex, head felt mushy, didn't care for the tail arrangemement..
other than that, nothing at all.
Like I stated, opinion is relative and subject to opinion. Just because I didn't care for it doesn't make it a bad chopper, just not one I would endorse or own.

Fair enough, everyone has their opinion. I tossed back and forth between the T-Rex and the e325 for a long time before I chose. I doubt I would feel a difference between the two, being the newb I am, so I went for style. I like the TT one better. Besides, by the time it matters, V2 will be out and I'll have upgraded most of it anyhow.

first time i went to my lhs was the first time i knew not to listen to any of the garbage that comes out of their mouths. at least that's how it is in vegas.

In Vegas or Aussie land, same kind of talk (With exception of the LHS who sells the bird you want)..

I take it more as 'marketing talk' than rubbish.

On a positive way, I can say that I learn far more through the various forums than through LHS.

Happy flying.
