I haven't had a static hit in 2 or 3 months. Today was dry cold with small snow flakes. I got 2 hits during one of 4 flights after adjusting the tail pushrod guide:thinking. This is with a neoprene belt and 3046 anti-static pully. I am wondering if I should apply some Graphit 33?
BTW, It seems it is not sold in the US or Cananda, so I ordered from Real Raptors.

If you do decide to use graphite spray apply it to a cloth and rub it on the belt - If sprayed on it makes a mess of the heli when the heli is spooled up. You could also ground the boom by running a ground wire to the alu motor mount from the boom. Just tap a hole in the top of the boom where it enters the main frames and mount a small nut and bolt to it with the wire attached. This works well on CF framed helis (it comes supplied on the Joker2) but I don't know how well it will work when dealing with plastic frames.

I just use a very soft arts graphite pencil on both my Logo and trex 450se..............

Never had any static hits, then again I replaced the idler pulley with bearings after the first few flights and have only had 16 flights to date.
I'm wondering if my belt is creating too much drag and want to lube it. I used to lube my T-Rex 450 belt with WD-40 which JK did to his. Can I use that on my Logo or is silicone spray a better idea?

Grahit 33 is good stuff, it does not eat belts and is non messy.

I think I've mentioned this before but the TDS for Graphit 33 actually recommends rubbing it on rather than spraying it on to increase conductivity and durability.

Yes good point Rob, I spray mine onto a rag, then using point of finger pressing the "wet spot" lol on the belt and turn the head and cover belt evenly, viola! :D
Indeed do "NOT" spray it directly onto belt, that....would be messy, very messy!:rolling

As I'm rebuilding I am coating the pullies and belt by rubbing it on. Sounds so good!:rolling

I was going to order some blades from them and thought I'd throw some of this in the order. I can't find it on their site. Got link?
TIA,

Yeah, that's where I searched, and there's no hits on "graphit 33", "graphit", or "graphite" that are of any use.
I wonder if they just stopped stocking it...

FWIW,
Up until recently I would get a static "hit" on my Logo 600, (which would caused the T/R to jerk), only about once ever 15 flights or so. I really wasn't paying attention to the weather along the way (i.e.humidity), but the problem didn't seem bad enough to try and fix. Up until now.
This last weekend the weather turned very cold and dry (for central California), and I got so many hits during the first two flights, I grounded the machine until I attempted to fix it. Knowing this thread was here, I did the following:
replaced the belt idler (which has small bearings in the plastic roller) with bearings of the same outside diameter, deleting the plastic part, and coated the belt with soft lead from a carpenter's pencil. I then grounded (to the boom) the bolt that supports the idler.
Flew it today 7 times in the same weather conditions (maybe not quite as dry, but close to it, and just as cold), and never got hit once. Thanks to all for the help. Dave Dahl.

If you note the post above (from me), you'll note the info doesn't quite fit the thread. That's because I thought I was on the "static discharge" sticky thread at the top of the forum, when I typed out the post. Give me a break OK? It was late, and it had been a tough day at the flyin' field ;). Oh well, if you've read this thread, you've probably read the sticky as well.

I must have purchased their last can. Email Andy and see if they are getting more.

Well, we had a long discussion and after much deliberation we decided to forgive you.

Thanks Rob. I was having trouble sleeping at night since the incident, and was considering enrolling in some government program for help. Now that won't be necessary .
