Thanks all for you replies....
I purposfully posted this little stupid/dangerous incedent of mine... i've been reading forums/web pages daily for last 3 months, and actually never found a what not todo list....
i'll of course never do this again, and would like other people to learn from my mistakes...
can Helifreak not create a new forum or sticky as suggested about best practices... ie, don't fly in parking lots, home, close to other people etc etc...

I will move this thread into the safety forum. It takes nutz to post a thread like this. Thanks for manning up and posting. Nobody is born with all the knowledge and experience even bad is how most of us learn.:arggg:

In full scale helis there is a phenomenon called 'ground resonance' that, as i understand it, can shake a heli to peices. I think the same thing can happen to small helis.
I was checking tracking on my coaxial and came up with a cunning plan to hold it down while I observed and run the sticks. It shook like crazy and the tracking was all over the place. Luckily, it is small enough that I can hold it in my hand safely, and when I ran it up it ran smooth as silk and tracked perfectly.
Ground resonace doesnt occur in 2 blade helis. the only RC heli that experoance ground resonace are scale helis

Willjames, thanks for moving the tread...
Dave M: Regarding the pic's sorry... but how boring is 3 red scares?:lol::lol:, the pain is more the problem, and pic's don't do that any justice ..... Maybe by end of the week it will change to more classic black blue colour....
Ginvent... any other ideas what might have happened? The heli is perfect in the air, no vibes etc.... just on hard solid ground its really goes into a wobblle

Does the wobble continue after the head is up to flying speed? How loose are your mains in the blade grips?

main blade grips are tight.(don't move when heli tilted on side, if its to loose, you REAALLY notice it, broke linkage already due to wobble).... and wobble only at low rpm or while still on ground... once in hover, purring like baby.......
still don't know why she oscilated/resonated/wobble so much in full power on the ground........

I've experience the same thing with a Raptor 30/50 on cement. Shook like crazy on spool up until it lifted off the ground. I'm willing to bet that it was ground resonance as I know for a fact there weren't bent shafts or anything like that.

omg that same thing just happened to me just like 5 minutes ago :( not blades on or anything luckily my arm wasnt in the way. i was giving minimul input and rudder control and the all i saw was it sitting on the ground making sparks with the flybar :( then i realized i had the throttle hold switch and i switched it.
Damage: flybar, flybar paddles, scratched battery(still will be able to use), chipped tile :( (i hope my parents wont see)

one stupid ? why are you checking ur tracking while holding the heli ?? are you tring to measure the blade grip flap cause thats all ur doing when holding the heli and the grip tring to act as a hinge ??? fly it to see if it tracks right. ur lucky the blade didnt land in you or ur eye. very lucky doing some thing as stupid. When will they ever learn, I know, once to many screw it up for the rest of us, :( with stupid rules and areas where all must fly or not fly in certin places. You know if you set ur linkages the same you will be 95% there and only need one to 2 turns if that.
