flying my ecureuil today here are some pics
e620 mechanics, 6s 5000,
the sound of the electric motor inside fuselage is just like a turbine and the blade sound is almost real.
model has plenty of power for scale flying and mild aerobatics.
thanks to the people on helifreak for advise in setup.

Dear coyote,
You have a wonderfull machine, could you please post somme digital photos of the inside of your heli. I am working on a conversion of an TT 550 E and I have trouble to put the mechanic in the fuse.
Thanks a loot and have a good day

Great scale! Have a few questions for ya:
1) How long did it take you to build it from scratch?
2) I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Trex-600E, but I'm wondering if this fits the Trex-600E mechanics.
3) Do you have many screws to unscrew when changing the lipos?

hi,
conversion from pod and boom took me 2 days to complete and test fly.
Not sure if trex would fit!
Distance from main mast to tail rotor is 810mm
As you can see internal photos show legs provided in fuselage kit for mounting mechanics, I had to make small spacer blocks to increase height of mechanics to allow boom to be at correct height.
I do not use the multi screw method to hold on the front, instead i hold the front of fuselage at the bottom by sliding it under 2 flat plates that clamp the halves to each other as it slides on, at the top i have only two 3mm cap screws that fit into 3mm brass inserts.
Approx 30 seconds to remove front.
Had another 4 flights today, makes a total of 32 enjoyable flights to date,
I have also made up my own strobe lights and search lights and they are now fitted,

Hi Coyote. Heli looks awesome. I am about to buy one of these fuselages myself. Just wondering how long is the flight time you are getting with the fuselage on? I am running 10s 4350 packs

Where can you buy this Ecureuil fuselage?
(I do have two E-620) so one could do with a real heli "look".. LOL
Thank you in advance.
Happy flying.

Hi again Coyote, I just recieved my fuselage. Just wondering how you reduced your head speed to the recomended 1600-1700? Also what have you used to attach the front part of the canopy the the rear part. The instructions use wood screws by the look of it, I think thats ok for a glow chopper, but when we have to remove the front so much to change batteries I would like to use another way, like magnets or sometning that is a little more user friendly?

hi,
henrik04 - Fuselage is sold by thunder tiger!
Dale691 - I am flying with OBL 43/11-30H motor (e550) with 10t pinion, 600mm blades and 6s 5000mah.
this gives approx 1700 - 1800 headspeed. I am happy with this!
The front is held on at the top by 2 off 3mm capscrews into 3mm threaded inserts.
At the bottom of the fuselage are 2 off plates that clamp the front to the main body.
This system works very well.
very busy today but will post a couple of pics tonight.

I'm just wondering about the E-620 and the boom length in the Ecureuil fuselage. 660 mm (or 25.98 inches)..
Does it fit the "squirrel" length??
Happy flying.

The mechanics i used were E-620. The tail boom length is ok.
You will have to make spacer blocks to raise height of mechanics approx 15mm (see my photos).
Also the height of body mounting posts top-side of fuselage is not the same so do not drill hole at point marked on fuselage. Make hole approx 15mm higher.

Fantastic! You made my day! Now I'm surely going to buy one.. Thank you coyote13.
Where to buy it from is just the question of whom has it at the best price.
Down here (Aussie land) the importer adds its toll and so does the LHS which makes this fuse at a prohibitive price.
Happy flying

Dear Coyote13,
I receive today from my German dealer my Ecureuil fuse. I begin tomorow the work on my Raptor 550 E (with long tail tube of the 620). I take some shoots of the construction and made a new thread with this second adventure after my first, the Agusta 109.
One last precision, could you please post a shoot of the system that hold the bottom of fuse ? You speel about too plates ?
Thanks a loot for your shoots and advice.

If you look at the pictures of inside fuselage you will see small white block in middle of the big white block and small black block fittings supplied in kit.
The small ones i made 4 to increase height of mechanics.
